ok sorry to like. blog. on Toyhouse. but i'm trying to be responsible and actually, like.. look into universities for the 2022-2023 school year. and it's big and exciting and nerve-wracking!!! so i need advice, i need help, whatever
i'm already planning to take sociology, i'm definitely getting a bachelor's but my dream is to eventually get a PhD in it and teach it. i'd also like to stay in Canada for uni, or possibly go to Europe because we are romanticizing </3 but anyway i'm looking at Nova Scotia. i'd prefer to live on campus if possible but ik it may not always be an option
does anyone have advice for the actual choosing a university part? what should i look for? what should be important to me? does anyone have general advice, links to videos or articles, etc? anyone have personal stories they'd like to share, whether for general things or a specific university?

anyway i'm having a hell of a time sorting through my old characters on this profile and my archive profile and finding credits for artists and bases and stuff and i just wanted to complain about that
my old OCs had like.. some soap opera levels of complexity. i'm thinking i'm gonna rework them and create a story with soap opera levels of drama sdfsdfdfsdfsd, so if you've got ideas for plot points and stuff, lay it on me

no, i haven't, but i plan to as soon as it's safe to!!!
what are your identities?
i use a LOT of labels because a part of my autism is that i like being specific, and i like having labels for my experiences. that said, the large majority of my labels are just for me; not necessarily private, but not major to me. i also don't share a lot of my identities because they're MOGAI ones and i'm afraid of backlash from transmeds
all that said, the gender identity i share with others, and my main one, is two-spirit!!! it's an Indigenous gender identity that to me recognizes that gender is more than just the colonial view of it, and that Indigenous peoples have always had queer people. it's also just, you know, a gender. other genders i share are genderqueer, xenogender, and trans man or transmasculine (i'm aware they're different but i use both!!)
and my orientation, barring microlabels, is polyamorous, queer, and a gay man. i'm also aspec, specifically graysexual along with others
what are your favorite pride flag(s), and why?
i really like the larkspur gay flag!! it's got a nice colour scheme and it's my gay man flag of choice
do you know anyone in your family who’s apart of the community?
no, as far as i know i'm the sole gay cousin
are you out to your family yet, or when do you plan to come out?
i've come out as a trans man and genderqueer to my family. it hasn't gone well, but my parents have gotten better about it, to the point where my dad listed me as genderqueer on the last census and they got me a binder. i'm still not safe properly presenting as male, though. my parents both think it's a trauma response, my transness. they think with therapy it'll go away. i have been in therapy for five, six years, and i'm still just as trans. but hey, they're almost willing to acknowledge that it could be the real deal
my brother is accepting of me being trans, and uses my proper name!! he also refers to me as his sibling to his friends, and not as his sister, which i appreciate
when did you figure out you were part of the community?
i've always kind of been the tomboy kind of kid, but i only realized "hey, i might actually be a boy" when i was 12/13. so i've been actively accepting myself as queer for.. what's the math on that, 4 or 5 years i think?
are you currently dating anyone else who’s apart of the community?
yes!! i have my lovely partner, who's nonbinary and polyamorous!!! i also have a "what are we" situation with a friend who's just as queer as i am!!!
have you come in contact with anyone homophobic, and how/why?
yes, my parents. otherwise, just the general queerphobes you meet online
do you have any characters that represent your identities, such as sexuality? why?
my fursona, Hudson, is trans, gay, polyamorous like i am!! my OC Phyllis Smith is genderqueer and also uses it/its pronouns, and Zachary Seth and Martin Smith's romantic subplot is a little little bit projecting and a way work through that fear of homophobia. Phyllis Smith and Opal Jeanne's relationship may also be a bit of projecting on my part lol
