At first, Jan thought Anise was a cold and unfriendly person. However, he soon realized she is friendly in her own way. Over the years he's grown quite fond of her and counts her as one of his close friends. He values her understanding of when he just wants silent company.
Anise's family took Jan in after his parents died. When she was younger, she saw him as another annoying brother. Over time she's come to appreciate his friendship, and often asks for his insight on matters involving emotions and interpersonal relations.
