the amv you posted on ytb yesterday is absolutely incredible as alwaysss, I'm always thrilled to see Zukii and Zekii again, the transitions, the effects ppffft- what a cool work,, a and the colors you choose in your animations are amazing every time and I love the vibe they bring out〜
speaking of which, I had a question about the color palettes you use in your amvs,, do you choose them by pure chance or is there a certain technique involved? I have quite a few animations in progress but the colors I choose don't seem to work out well TT any advice ?

As for color palettes, I'd usually try to create one that resembles the character's colors
Also keep in mind the emotion and you want to convey through the animation (you may want to create a palette that works as a light and dark version)
I'd initially select the accent color of the character (for example pink) and work out the palette from there
Try to vary the hues as you build up from dark to light, imagine a color wheel: mid color (pink), dark colors would lean more towards a blue/purple, and light colors red/orange (that's an exaggerated example, the changes can be more subtle, but you get the idea)

Firstly, I've just been curious about what you use to edit together your audio in your animations. When combining covers, do you just kinda play around with it until it sounds good?
Secondly, with your recent Knife x3 Sketch animation, I was curious as to how you did that thing where everything flashes in the background, did you literally have to copy & paste every frame required in there?
Thirdly, with your Alkali Underachiever animation, how did you achieve that paper look thingie?

HIHI, I use Vegas Pro to make all edits regarding my animations/ audio mixing and even editing and adding effects to my drawings xD
As for covers, it depends. I usually work with the original version of the song, but try using cover because copyright >_>
I try to choose covers that sound similar to the original song
Although there's certain tunings that I think just sound better in the vocaloid version, so I kind of combine them together and edit the values with the Graphic EQ in Vegas Pro
I used a green screen for that part in the Knife amv, if I had to copy every frame I'd go insane wHAJSH
I rendered a speed up version of the while amv and then edited it together
As for Alkali, I downloaded a paper texture and offsetted its position in 4 different frames so that it appears it's moving, the looped it all over and applied an overlay effect to it
And for the last, I use the Fabercatell Supersoft pencils

I have a theory, the multiple words of yours with different protagonists would be like contrasting sequels to your OC project.

well yes and no, it really depends on the story and character xD
For example, Project AER on its own could be considered to have a sequel followed by the second protagonist (E.B) that would pick up after the events of the Project AER story
CODE_XIVIL, despite being in the same world, it happens at the same time as Project AER but told from the perspective of another character
Meanwhile stories like Tea & Spirits and The Flower Graveyard, despite sharing the same world, these 2 stories don't have a connection with each other, they are linked more through worldbuilding and the similar themes, but each story follows its own path

of course !! I made a lil tutorial some time ago
much basically, I use this one brush! it's just my default watercolor brush with the Bumpy texture
and for the detailing process, instead of drawing the shape of the cloud with white and then adding shadows, I go from dark to light
I lower the opacity to draw the base of the cloud, and then define the shape and details of the cloud manually according to the direction of the light ^^

to answer your questions,, when picking colors, I usually aim to complement the character design
for vibrant characters with eye-catching palettes (pink, purple, yellow, blue, etc) I often incorporate the dominant accent color into a specific part of the background, and this approach creates a cohesive feel
For characters with some more dull/natural colors (white, grey, brown, green, etc), I tend to have more liberty when choosing colors for backgrounds, because I feel it's easier to adapt the character colors to the bg instead
My resolution revolves around 1280 x 720 pixels or 1000 x 1000, but that's kinda a bad habit xD I often find myself adding details almost pixel by pixel
so I 100% recommend working on a higher resolution, 1920 x 1080, 2000 x 2000 to say the least, it sure provides more room for intricate detailing and ensures a sharper overall result!
Very self-explanatory but, animal characters, natural landscapes and japanese architecture is my passion xDD definitely my favorite thing to draw
Colors wise, I'd say I like to use a combination of warm and cool colors, depends on the mood
I used to paint with very bright/pastel colors, but with the years I've been leaning more towards warm vibrant colors
In terms of themes, I'm particularly fascinated by the integration of nature into various settings, whether it's animals coexisting with architecture, or landscapes intertwining with fantastical elements
and absolutely! :] I love seeing crossovers with my OCs

awe no worries at all !! I'm more than happy to answer your questions
Regarding shading and color choice, yes, experimenting is a big part of my process! this is really trying out different techniques and work out which one feels right for you
For my cel-shaded style, I usually add the base shading in one layer, and then clip a layer above to add the inner highlights and dark shades (I do this with every shading style really lul)
for shading I often use blending modes like multiply/shade, overlay, and shine modes for pretty much everything (BG and characters)
In the speedpaint you listed, I used the Shade blending mode, and I'm not actually using other colors for the lighter blending if that's what you're referring to? it is basically the brush settings that has this kind of watercolor effect, and I paint with trasparent pixels on
then I use the magic wand to select the different color parts of the character, and change the hue of the shading with CTRL+U
As for Japanese song artists, it's hard to pick just one!! I have really been vibing to syudou, Kikuo and Fushi as of recently xD
I also really like MARETU and Kariki Bear when it falls under vocaloid artists
and TRI4TH, bohemianvoodoo, H ZETTRIO, for the Japanese Jazz fusion, which is my fav music genre !!
my art style has definitely evolved over time, some artists that inspired me to start digital drawing were Fierying, TheCynicalHound, LupisVulpes back in the old days :]
but overtime my style developed through a combination of practice and observation, with a notable influence from Japanese culture of course!
And I'm not a furry myself, I don't have as many anthropomorphic characters, mostly ferals, but I guess their stories tend to revolve around elements in the human world

Since you use flipaclip alot I thought to ask on your opinion on the new update if you've seen it already? They added things like alpha lock and clipping layers, halftone brushes
(as can be seen in the artwork!! Uminaoshi was the first thing I saw back then when I started animating myself so I thought drawing Aisu would be super fun and abit nostalgic ^_^)

a fun fact is that Sesfi origin was because of a game called Little Inferno, where you burn things lol, and there was a set of wooden letter blocks that came with random letters everytime
and one day I got the letters "SESFI" and I drew a random doodle of a fox later, that later became my oc
and in his story, Sesfi is born from the ashes of an infernal furnace in reference to the game, so that's one thing I'm keeping for sure!

His design was entirely random xD like I mentioned it was just a little doodle from a random sketchpage, but I kept drawing him repeatedly until I decided to turn him into an official oc, he was created in 2016 I think!
I wanted the dragon to have more relevance in the story, but I've yet to work on that

1. very short story, I combined me and my cousin's old Minecraft usernames XD that was TeresaRM and Bluenry999
and I initially created a channel my named TerenryRM999 (where I uploaded minecraft tutorials lolol) then it chaged to Terenry RM that lasted for a while, and it's just Terenry now,,

2. ohh!! I found that effect by accident, it's quite a few steps
first group all your layers in a folder and make sure that you have a background, either solid color, or painted (then merge all into 1 layer)
once merged, you can copy that one layer and ctrl + z to unmerge
then you have to paste the layer TWICE, and desaturate the colors to 100%
now apply a Divide effect to the layer above, and a Gaussian Blur effect (around 0.5 - 1.0 works best)
then you can merge both layers and adjust the Brightness / Contrast to achieve the desired outline intensity
FINAL STEP, apply either a Shade or Multiply effect

Now the easy way you can do this, is apply the Water Fringe in the Layer Effect dropdown xD but you'll have to apply it to each layer separately

3. as for the chromatic aberration, I edit it with Vegas Pro, I mainly use plugins like Sapphire FX that has various chromatic fxs

since I didn't come up with the name myself, back then when I had Minecraft no premium, the only way to change your skin was using another player names lol

This style of animation is called tweening/puppet or interpolated animation, basically the software uses keyframes to define the starting and ending points of the animation, then it automatically generates the inbetween frames
it involves creating a character with separate parts that can be rigged using either bones or meshes

most of the elements in the background were hand drawn, and only a few graphics were generated in the editing software (lines/checkered patterns, and circles)
I mainly use Vegas Pro to edit with a few plug-ins (NewBlue and Sapphire) I used an effect from Sapphire called WarpBubble to make the animated wavy lines, everything else was animated manually using keyframes

Just research subjects that you're interested in!! ask yourself questions related to the topics of interest
the mostly you can find is in online resources, like websites, forums or articles
maybe a bit more unusual, but I tend to look up word synonyms/different meanings of the word
so while i'm writing, instead of using the word "engine," I might look up alternatives like "propulsion system" to add variety, and sometimes one thing can lead to another, and you can discover new concepts or ideas to incorporate into your story
I also like to take notes of possible ideas as I research, even if they don't make it to the final story

Hi tere!!! I just wanted to ask some questions about your stories and art/animations (I love them very much btw!! You've been a MASSIVE inspiration for my art and animation even if they don't look remotely similar XDD)
The first question is about your animations! How do you 'create' new effects? (What's your inspiration when trying to find new effects?) It always seems like with every new animation you've pulled something new out of your sleeve XDD
2nd question is with your 'world 3' and world '1'. I've noticed while reading your character's backstories, that Worlds 1 and 3 are connected. Characters such as Taikuh (I know character stories are to be rewritten but still) were captured by XIVIL and then escaped. What I mean to say is, will World 3 characters (Taikuh, illu and Kyou) ever meet or have interactions with characters from *World 1?
3rd Question! What are the designs of Kasa and Kiro based on? (Specifically their clothing)
4th Question (sorry, I know it's a lot! Just I have a lot to ask >.<) I noticed that in your PINK AMV, R3Play was missing. I ask this because, in the last AMV (KYOKAN AMV), he was present, training to fight (I think). Is he not present because he comes later in the story or has he been entirely rewritten to have another role in the story?
5th: (FINAL QUESTION I SWEAR) On the topic of the PINK AMV's story, will the Flowergraveyard character ever have any relevance (I love their designs sm!) to the story? (or are they just there lmaooo)

That's lots of questions wAHSJA but it's good to know you've been very interested into my work !! I'm always happy to talk about it ^.^
1. By effects I guess you mean the graphics in my animations, lately I've been focused to keep a consistent style throughout my amvs, with the use of shapes, colors and different kinds of transitions that you see in Motion Graphics style (which is my inspiration for these effects)
for example, PINK has very sharp figures, squares, hexagons, pointed edges, and framed patterns
Venom has lots of lines / blinds patterns, gears, you'll notice that many figures have a spinning motion
Alkali Underachiever I felt like using more soft edges / thin lines / circles to represent a more minimal style
so basically, *most of* the time, I try to set a set of rules that will be followed throughout the amv to help create consistent graphics!
2. Ah, that's an interesting observation! I haven't decided yet what kind of connection World 1 and 3 will have in the future, but these two sets of characters do not interact with each other in the storyline ! I'm thinking that the encounter with XIVIL occurs in an alternate reality or something xD or maybe I'll cut the connection between World 1 and build up a new direction
3. Simple answer, nothing in specific, just random :p
4. Since I developed R-Tea's backstory in a different direction, these changes have left Replay a bit on the sidelines, and I've been struggling to find a suitable way to fit him back into the storyline
originally, Replay literally gets isekai'd and just meets R-Tea randomly and joins his quest on defeating demons n stuff xD
so I've been thinking for a while about a videogame AU ?? they give me such the vibes, idk why
I believe it could infuse the story with the same dynamic energy with some cool videogame adventures yeayea !!
5. Similarly, the characters from World 2, including Flower Graveyard, do not intersect with the Tea & Spirits story
Each story follows a different path within the shared world, it's just that these characters share similar elements and themes

ohh yeah !! it is a layer effect, there is a small option above the layer mode that's a dropdown button
you click that and you should be able to see the layer effects, I use this one called Ruido (Noise), or maybe you have it w/ a different name
it creates a textured pattern, and then I add an overlay mode to the layer

I got inspired with the photo below my comment so I’ll show three pictures with the plushy xD context - this was before when I was going on a trip to NYC and I couldn’t take pictures of this plushy since I don’t want him to get dirty :”3 but this was in July and I have plenty of more photos that I have :] so right now he’s at the airport of Louis Armstrong N.O international airport the airport is still new but I’m planning to go to Japan in 2024 or 2025 when I have time ^^

Always curious of how you design, well, designs of course! How do you come up with the outfits, color palettes etc?

I've answered this before with a few examples :]
It's a bit hard to explain because I rarely plan ahead a character design, it's usually entirely random
sometimes the most creative and unique designs come from spontaneous inspiration
generally, I first draw the base of the character, and then add the details as I go
start with basic shapes, and fill in the details
as for patterns, I would start by adding the base color and draw a quick guide where the patterns will go, then, I would fill in the details on top of the guide
I try to build up the patterns from light to dark, or vice versa
I sometimes struggle to come up with a color palette, I'd usually pick the colors randomly and hope that it looks somewhat appealing
I try to keep each color on a different layer, just in case I need to make some adjustments or change the overall palette
but I do use layer modes a lot (eg. Exclude, Difference, Overlay) to make minor adjustments or come up with a complete different palette!

absolutely! as an artist I find inspiration in a diverse array of cultures, I like to look up for the architecture side the most
I don't think I've drawn a piece that focuses on a different culture entirely, but I do like to keep in mind other architectures that help inspire my work

some of my oc stories draw inspiration from the european like Renaissance and Victorian architecture

Hi, it's me again, this time I bring a mini meme! XD... YAYA...I read the story of these two...and honestly, I fell in love with it, I loved it! while I was writing it I found that time crystals are a real thing?? and I thought that was really cool
then I kinda started to delve deeper into quantum mechanics and found out about retrocausality, and I was like HMMM, time crystals + retrocausality,,, and I just decided to give my own twist on it xD

when creating illustrations that involves cultures other than your own, it's important to approach the task with respect and willingness to learn about the culture
do your research and take the time to understand Japanese culture, its history, and its people
and also avoid cultural stereotypes and generalizations !!
personally I have been influenced by oriental shows and media since I was little and always found it fascinating
I don't intend to use it as an "aesthetic" but rather as a way to learn and expand my knowledge in such
I'm not an expert myself but I think cultural appropriation is not about perfection but about respect and a willingness to learn
I find Japanese culture to be beautiful from an artistic perspective, and it's exciting to open your mind in learning something new when approaching with respect ^-^
