Did Snark issue a chargeback for you?

UPDATE: Thanks to selling some old characters I'm out of the negative balance, thank you for helping me out! Still leaving this up as a beware.

Hi everyone. I'm dealing with a chargeback (my first actually! so im super lost in how to deal with all of it lmao) from toyhouse user Snark. I have heard other people were just hit with chargebacks. I am currently in the negatives and waiting on having my characters transferred back so I can resell them. I will also be making some quick adopts to try and make back my cash since... I was just planning on getting groceries today yaaaay

If you were affected by a chargeback from this person you can let me know here or privately. I'm gonna keep track of who was hit and hopefully we can put together a beware.

If a post like this is against the rules please let me know. I read the rules and it seems like public blacklisting is allowed. I am not here to start a harassment campaign or witchhunt against this person. I am simply issuing a warning and seeking out others affected. Thank you for understanding and not reaching out or attacking Snark.

they finally got me, thought i was safe bc the majority of the chargebacks were over a month ago but i was unpleasantly surprised this morning

really hoping i dont ever interact with them again esp since it looks like theyve deleted/deactivated most of their accs and prolly is under a diff name

I just got hit with a charge back about 20 minutes ago and kinda lost on what to do... it’s not a very large sum of money or anything it’s just sad this person charged back so many ppl

What sucks about this is paypal won't do anything about it even though it's involving mass chargebacks and an obvious mass scam...

Ya I tried denying the chargebacks but because they sent as it being a shipped good I can’t do anything about it :(

I thought I wasn't going to get hit by a chargeback because it's been almost five months since I sold them a character - just got the email ten minutes ago that a case has been opened.

$95 isn't a super huge number, but I legitimately cannot afford to lose that money right now, with taxes and insurance and bills all coming up due...

I know this is a bit of an older thread but if anyone can help me with how to proceed with this PayPal case, it's been a while since I've had to deal with one and I know this person is lying so I'd like to win the case ;___;

I just got hit with a chargeback and I didn't even get a message from them nor the character back because their account on here is closed and the character is deleted too ;;

Is the character posted anywhere online? cause if you can find the file i'd just reupload it to TH tbh, if they chargebacked then the character is yours regardless!

They might be? The thing is, I don't remember what the character looked like, and while I have the ownership log in my settings, the character itself is deleted, so I couldn't see them in the first place ;;

I was hit with a $300 chargeback that left me deep in the negatives with PayPal. Luckily I got the character back to try and resell but I am beyond pissed about it, as I’m sure most are.

Did the admins get him?

Or did the ass take those now technically stolen characters and run because his scam has been revealed?

They stated that they're a minor and that they "shared a PayPal with a friend" but the friend cut ties or somethin but they also wont disclose how they obtained their money
But they also put that they were 19 in their FA bio to "see agelocked accounts because most of my favorite artists draw nsfw too"

they said that anyone affected by this can message them to get the characters back but all of this seems hella sketchy tbh

also, if they don't seem intent on returning any of the characters i would consider contacting the TH admins & just re-uploading them honestly. I mean what can they really do if they didn't pay for them yanno.

they have a lot of high quality designs that they bought around December, a lot of them being in the same week span which is a bit odd IMO. They might just be obssesed with buying characters but it’s a tiny bit suspicious.

Oops I commented with the wrong acc but YES this person is charging back people and their excuse is that paypal closed their so it isnt them?? There was another person in the past that had a beware on them for this SAME thing and used the same excuse and I'm wondering if it may be the same person? If I find the beware tho I'll send it to u!!

this is a common scam tactic of "oh paypal closed my account" but its often a lie. not saying you might not know this already, but i wouldn't believe that excuse, imo!
