New Closed Species (suggestions pls ;;; ;;;)

Okay so I've been mulling over this potential closed species for 2 weeks now and only found the time to make a quick scribble. So basically this is like a cross between hummingbirds and bats; I've done some research on these two animals (like the anatomy, diet, behavior, etc.) and thought it was a cute concept--though I apologize if someone else had already done this already--if ever I'll try to tweak my own if that was the case.

Anywho--I'm very new to designing anthros (is this one even? x'D) so I'd like to know what you guys think and I'd appreciate any suggestions/ideas you may have (ESPECIALLY THE NAME LMFAO). For now I'm just calling these kiddos HummingBats cuz I'm so creative.

WELL, as for the name... barbs. Bits. Hummingbats. /shot This is a stupid idea but... why not find a mix of avis/ales/volucris (birb in Latin) and vespertilio (bat in Latin)? You got all the freedom then. Avirtilio. Vespercris. Vesperales. Tiliocris. Whatever! :>

my only experience with anthro had always been those rare anthro comms that come and go. And lmfao your first suggestions I crie ahhaha. And goodness no your suggestion isn't stupid, latin always has this cool badass feel to it tho I'm concerned abt the meaning. I'll ponder on this a lot--ty again for the suggestions~

this is beautiful for your first time designing an anthro. Hummingbats actually sounds pretty good, but maybe putting a little twist on the words would make it a bit more interesting! This species will go far for sure, kudos to you! c:

I-I know that feeling esp if u really love a specie hahaha//hi5s you. Glad u like thr feather fluffs since I wanted ears that balance out the avian and mammal traits these kids have. And oh gosh wriv kan really likes ur suggestion and u gave me an idea for the name. It took me the entire day to figure things out//kisses u for making life a bit easier.
