Mothrai

Status: Closed species

Authorized creators: acverg and midokuns

Friendly and full of energy, mothrai are an ancient species, known to inhabit big bodies of water for centuries.

Extremely social, these aquatic creatures usually rely on their numbers to survive, as they are rather weak when alone. This information, however, has been proven to be only true for the Common mothrai, the more docile type of them.

Their angrier cousins, the Predator mothrai, have different behaviors. Evolved from rogue mothrai that were daring enough to take on risks, these mischievous subspecies has learned to hunt and scavenge for food and trinkets they might like. Predators are known to terrorize commons for pure fun, though there is no known serious rivalry between the two, as common mothrai generally cannot fight back against their bullies.

Information

  • "Mothrai" is both singular and plural.
  • Mothrai usually live in big groups of family and/or friends, and divide tasks between each other.
  • Common mothrai avoid any sort of conflicts and tend to hide if threatened. They're quite the scaredy bunch when it comes to any sort of fighting.
  • Predator mothrai can live alone without problem, but tend to avoid it as being alone for long makes them bored. Because of that, bullying towards commons is usually done by individuals, not groups.
  • Predator mothrai tend to be bigger than common ones.
  • Mothrai with horns are seen as extra dangerous and tend to be stronger and more respected. Unsusprisingly, most of the ones born with horns are predators.
  • Mothrai with unusual structures are seen as anomalies and generally avoided, especially by commons. Predators might see them as interesting, but that depends on the individual.

Looks and Traits

  • Trait list (will be updated as I come up with new traits)
  • Mothrai have human-like skintones.
  • Not all mothrai are male! I try to draw most of them somewhat androgynous and the buyer is free to decide their gender!
  • The "wings" on their back and hips are actually fins! They move more or less like a ray and help the mothrai move faster.
  • The fins on their back come in many shapes and sizes, but the sizes have a direct relation with the mothrai's speed. Wings too small or too big make it harder to move, while those slightly larger than usual make the fastest mothrai.
  • Mothrai may or may not have fur in other parts of their body depending on where they live, but unless specifically stated on the trait list, those do not have any effect on rarity.
  • Mothrai use clothes and accessories as they please. You are free to come up with those as you want!
  • Traits may not be upgraded from their rarity chart, only downgraded. (ex: you have a mothrai with an uncommon trait, you can only change it to common, NOT rare).
  • Users who bought the very first mothrai (back when they had few fixed traits) are allowed to keep those traits, be them uncommon or rare. If you have any doubts, feel free to message me about it!

Remember, Mothrai are a CLOSED species! Please, do NOT make your own!

I do not claim ownership of mermaids, animal traits n etc, only to my own interpretation of those as seen here.

thank you for the interest, but they're a bit active at the moment )): any openings will be posted here on toyhouse though!

Thanks Iv been after one a while but it’s proving difficult I think the concept is so cool and pretty

Is it possible for me to make a common one and just keep it on private till I get a myo? I rlly wanna draw one

i'm sorry, i'd rather you didn't! if you feel like drawing one, i'd suggest reaching to owners and asking if they'd accept art of theirs? i've done that a few times with CS i like and it often helps get the desire to draw out

Okay I’ll try that sorry if Iv offended you by asking 💕💕 that wasn’t my intention I promise

no worries, you didn't!
