I feeeeel the commute bit. I used to live pretty far out in this little area called Taringa so the next town over was Toowong outside of Brisbane, and heck that was a painful commute, especially by bus. A lot of nights if I worked late I'd just walk home through a park that by day was FULL of flying foxes, but at night for obvious reasons was pretty empty. I got really in shape living there. xD
anD TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE I WORKED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF BRISVEGAS SO I HAD TO COMMUTE INTO AND PAST THE CITY FOR WORK DLASKFJLDKAJK luckily the trains ran all night.
I live in North America, now, and I miss Brisbane so bad.

oh man u poor thing :'D i see so many flying foxes whenever i go near/around brisbane tho a couple were so close in the low branches of trees i could've just reached out and touched them - the cuties
i live wayyyy out rural, it's like... a three to four hour drive to brisbane for me? depending on the transport, anyway, and the closest town that does piercings is like an hour away ;^^
trains are a godsend tho i love travelling on them when in the big city but we don't have them where i am :/ apparently we used to but they were for cargo mostly
and wow ;w; i imagine moving to a different country wouldn't have been easy :0
