CLOSED SPECIES - PASHMINNA

Posted 8 years, 3 months ago by u__wo_

This species is meant to be small/chibi/childish. Do not draw them mature/risque or in adult works.
They do not age or grow, they stay small.

Pashminna are a closed species.

GENERAL INFO

  • They were created in the likeness of scarftails as tributes initially, but eventually became more normalized as companions over time.
  • Born from a special stone kept warm within a mana infused cloth woven by adept mages.
  • It takes 2 weeks to incubate the stone and bring to life a pashminna.
  • The stones are recycled from previous pashminna and deposited all over the world for random passers-by to create their own companion from, or sell for a hefty sum.
  • Pashminna are tiny cloth helpers that do not reach more than 3'0" in maximum size, and can be as small as 1'0"
  • Their size depends on the amount of fabric put forth to create them however as mentioned previously, there's a required amount in a small range. Any excess is simply left behind.
  • They can only be reared by adept mages. It takes a lot of mana and mana infused cloth is not easily accessible.
  • Pashminna are hollow and do not require sustenance. They do not grow or age, merely wear out and unravel in their sleep as they near the end of their energy.
  • A pashminna can outlast 2-3 human life cycles if they're careful about upkeeping themselves.
  • They can upkeep themselves by using a pure mana needle stored within their stomachs to stitch up tears that open on their body.
  • Tears on a pashminna will glow with the power of the stone within them. They will leak bright smoky blue fumes, their life force, until stitched up proper.
  • A pashminna's needle must be handled with gloves if a human has to stitch them. The pure mana will easily burn the skin and poison the individual if no protection is present.
  • Since pashminna are hollow, they often keep some of their partner's belongings inside of them like a secondary bag. A pashminna's stomach is likely to hold things like thread, coins, bolts and nuts, and other craft-related materials.
  • They can speak and adapt to the language of their creator -- it's not wise to order a pashminna from someone who doesn't speak your language, or they will likely need the same amount of teaching a child would in order to learn.
  • They float! Their stones give them enough strength to interact with the air's mana to use a floating ability. Their pull becomes a bit too much by the time they reach the tops of taller trees however, so flying higher than that becomes dangerous.

ANATOMY

  • As mentioned pashminna do not gain/lose muscle or weight as they don't function or survive like mortals. They also do not grow, and are never seen over 3'0" or under 1'0"
  • They have large eyes, small noses and big mouths. Their hands have three fingers and one thumb, all knobby in shape. Their feet have three to four toes, and feetpads are optional.
  • Their tails never exceed the length of their bodies, and common pashminna always have tassels/fringes on the tips of their tails.
  • Their tail decorations are lightweight, as heavier objects could weigh them down and make them unable to fly properly. Their beads are usually plastic.
  • They don't always have a bead, but most prefer it, because they have an attraction to shiny objects.
  • They can sometimes be hoarders and hoard their favorite things in their stomachs, which makes them appear chubby.
  • Their very existence and purpose can be compared to common MMO npc races, like moogles and the cats in monster hunter.
  • They do not breed as they are recycled from their own life forces. Once their stone's energy runs out, they will fall asleep and their unravel until they are nothing but a pile of fabric. Their stone will then dissipate to be reborn somewhere else in the world fully charged.
  • The stones do not retain memories of their past lives.

Question, I want to commission someone to design the species but they're 17, would that be disallowed? I thought they were 18 when I asked them. (They haven't started yet nor have I shown them the page)

Hi, this is fine but just be aware I've put my page on hard block so if they need to contact me for any reason it'd need to be through you x:

Sure! Thanks! 💚

AHH dammit you're right, they are supposed to have three fingers + thumb. I'll have to edit that when I have time, thanks so much for pointing that out >_<

hi! i have a couple questions; is a pashminna's mana unique to them (for example could they be recognized individually by 'energy signature' tracking or etc)? and if so, would it be kept or completely new when they respawn as a stone? would it be theoretically possible for someone to try to hunt down the stone left behind by a particular individual pash? O:

2nd one is more practical LOL do their hands have to have paw pads and can their hands/feet have claws?

i love reading abt your species lore sm ; u ; <3

I hadn't really planned for that sort of thing, mainly because the pashminna is decided by the cloth that's woven for it, rather than the stone -- but for your own story purposes that could totally be a thing o:

And their hands must be paws, but they don't need pads, and they can have small (cat like) claws made from plastic/metal/etc accessory materials.

Thank you for enjoying my species!

ohh i see!! O'8 last question, i got a pash slot and wanted to clarify if it's ok or not to use the purple tail endings? not sure if those are considered rare hdfshd tysm!!

It's more like the maximum amount of embellishments that their tail can handle rather than a solid rarity. ^^

ohh gotcha! o7 tysm!

I just wanted to ask, since there isnt too much info on their stones/life force, if theyre alwayd at the end of the tail, average, size, etc unless u plan to update this later with that ;v;

The stuff on their tail is purely decoration, it's mentioned those beads are plastic. The stone is inside of the pashminna (like a heart).

Ohhhh i see ok c: thank you!

The cute tiny muffins.... QuQ
