I know a lot of artists have public lists on Trello or something similar that have their current commissions and whether they're in progress or not, etc. Do you guys prefer that or is it not a concern? I can see why people could find it useful, but if most people don't pay attention to them it would just be an extra thing to maintain. I'm just curious about what people think!
i'm kind of meh. i like some sort of idea of how far down i am in the list but it doesn't have to be as concrete as a trello is *shrug*

Unrelated, but I'm just so happy to see that you're around again! I absolutely adore your art but wasn't sure if you were still on the interwebs so I'm glad to know you're here since I guess I've been missing all your activity, hope to commission you soon <333

I tried to manage a Trello a while back, but I finished most commissions within a day so it felt unnecessary and tedious tbh
If I were the commissioner... I don't think I would care if there was a Trello or not - as long as I get the piece to me within a month or two, I don't really care too much about their progress

Yeah, I get you! I usually finish most things within a week of accepting them, depending, so I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it. If you’re finishing stuff within one or two days that would totally be a lot of effort for no real payoff

I find its useful for gauging an artist's workload before I go about commissioning them, or if I want to see how they've been progressing with their workload/not bother them directly while I'm waiting on a com! I've got one for my own customers as well, and while my turnaround time is usually quick enough that I don't need to inform them about it (1-2 days usually for the little things I've been doing), I also keep it maintained it for myself/to check on my own progress? I've got a physical journal that I keep filled out with the art I do on a day to day basis so that I can look back on it and say I was actually productive that day, but I tend to be bad at filling it out sometimes, so having the trello to refer to helps to keep track of all that business too haha

I didn’t think of it as a way to guage how busy an artist is at the moment, but that makes total sense!! And I also have a physical list so I wasn’t sure if two would be too much or something, so it’s good to know that you find it useful still! It is easy to forget sometimes when you’re writing it down, especially at the tail end of the week LMAO
