hey so basically ive seen some cute ship dynamic memes floating around tumblr and instagram (apparently it started in twitter but... i dont use twitter) and i was curious about the rest of toyhouse's favorite and most common ship dynamics!
in short i have some starter questions but you can talk abt whatever as long as its relevant!

but as for me my favorite ship dynamic is,,, hm,,, i love soulmate stuff like best friends -> lovers and all, but also two people who love each other very much but only share one brain cell
i usually end up with like. either opposites attract (like dennis and gaho, one is a minor criminal and the other works in a pretty bad maid cafe) or person a is very curious and fearless and person b is easily frightened and maybe a little bit of a homebody, but they go on adventures every other weekend and stay in watching movies the other times to make each other happy c:

so firstly - i really love "battle couples", basically, a couple who works REALLY WELL together, but not just relationshipwise but also in a fight. example being robin x starfire in teen titans. (and also my oc x canon ship in the same fandom between starfire and my oc but sh.)
enemies to friends to lovers is so. SO SO SO good
also a is a diabolical genius who could take over the world and b is the dumbass who's going to stop them is really good.
+ one person being really really open and trusting and the other person struggling to even trust a LITTLE BIT is so good. thank
- character a is rly outgoing/positive/sort of just a big stupid dog in person form, character b is prickly and only really cares about character a so everyone else is like "how do you two even get along" and character a is like "what, b? b's great, i love b so much"
- super super super dependent on each other and just. would never love anyone else. probably slightly unhealthy.
- huge size difference esp when the smaller one is definitely the one in charge
- bastard/bastard ship when bastard a refuses to take any shit and bastard b does nothing but dish out shit
I love pairings where char A is really prickly and cynical about the world, and char B is the one character they kind of loosen up around/the one person they care about and are willing to listen to!
I think all my selfships are that friends for a long time become lovers kinda thing. But one has that Tall wife thing in one of the example links, and that's just goooooood. The one that isn't, well it's not canon yet, it's the future.
And as said a few posts up, when the shorter one by a large margin is in charge. GOOD. Even more so when the tall one is also really powerful and wouldn't take it from anyone else but their partner.
And then just a bunch of other good ones that avoid me, like I'm not super picky, as long as it's not something super bad, I'll probably dig it!
I really love the personality clash of Noble Male, Roguish Male trope. I think my detectives Henry and Nick fall into it a little.
The Noble Male is generally world-wise, gentlemanly, and sophisticated—while the Roguish Male is generally reckless, wild, and prone towards fighting.
The Brains and Brawn trope is similar, but I don't like seeing the characters portrayed as polar opposites. I need to see the Noble Man take after some of the Roguish Male's behavior and vice versa, otherwise it's not much fun. This stuff always works on me too haha.

a bunch of my fav ship dynamics and a bunch of the other ones people have mentioned have been mixed w/ chris and nate's relationship!!! they're basically reclusive pessimist/bold optimist (respectively) but nate is also helping chris recover and come out of his shell and there's a lot of pure domestic happiness and i just !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD i really need to make a page abt their relationship or smth but all i have is this pinterest board,,
