As in, things you often see in designs a lot that you don't like yourself. Like trends.

I wondered this as I'm not a fan of colored teeth and bones yet I love colorful blood and whatnot. Yet people are making colored teeth/bones a popular thing now? (Seeing, say, blue-colored teeth, for example, looks...kinda wrong to me?)

The only rule is that you aren't allowed to attack people and such because they don't like something you like and vice versa. Be kind and civil.
Also, species don't count. This is about things like a kind of marking and the like.

Mines... Stripes. (Given I have some with stripes) But it's a pain for me to draw stripes a lot!

I'm not understanding the color'd teeth either. Gold ones tho I do oddly enough; because those are A+ and really nice to look at. Um, antlers. (Only because I can't... draw them for crap.)

Gild

yea i'm not a big fan of the whole colored teeth either, it's really odd

but my biggest pet peeve would be super saturated / neon colors in general, unless it's restricted to the eyes / in very small quantities. and in human designs specifically it's super off-putting when their skin is an unnatural color like purple or green. also a lot of the angel/demon type designs (i.e wings, halos, random ram horns and slitted pupils) feel stale to me, i just don't really get the appeal

Coffeewoof

Too many eyes. I can handle three or four, but when characters have a ton of eyes on their face or down their bodies it just gives me that uncanny valley discomfort. Eyes freak me out lol.

I'm not a huge fan of the floating limb design trait. Some characters can pull it off well, but it's never been too appealing to me.

AlleycatIrony

oh yeah coloured teeth are weird i don't get it but to each their own!

i'm not big on pastel palettes - ones where u can barely see the colour, and i don't rly see the appeal of objects for heads (tho in saying that i've seen a couple of cool ones)

^ i also agree w/ floating limbs, i just don't understand it haha

-Alex-

I admit that I used to not like floating limbs because I was young (11-12 or so?) and wanted to make fursuits of all my characters or something? So it upset me that I logically couldn't turn that character into something real and especially something I could dress up as. I'm okay with it now, though. It's just a trait that exists and I'm unsure if I have any characters with floating limbs or if I ever will.

erubeculas

big agree on pastel palettes where you can hardly see the character (that's actually what i came here to mention because they mess with my eyes hardcore).. i've also never really understood the obsession with cutesy young looking boys. it can strike me as really weird, esp if the creator refers to them as shota (ew) 😰 but i see so many of them around

atempause

colored blood. i mean i do have some ocs with black blood but irl it can get really dark so that doesn't bother me but when a character bleeds a blue glitter it's weird to me

oddly enough stuff like colored teeth are fine lmao

^same on the cutesy boys thing

xKara

the aegyo-sal (aka eye bags) to the point where it just looks weird, seen it more and more and its just off-putting kinda? ;w;

I second the pastel colour stuff. Maybe it's my monitor but the colours are always too similar. Also it's usually blue or pink, I rarely see pale purples, yellows, greens, only blue and pink. It can be pulled of well of course, but personally I prefer brighter colours or entirely monochrome characters.

(Not sure if this counts as a trend but) I also don't particularly like characters that are ridiculously complex. Some complexity is fine, obviously, but eventually it gets to the point where it's like "will you ever even be able to draw them again?" That might be entirely personal preference though. I just prefer simpler designs- easier to draw.

grimberriz

i cant handle super neon bright stuff.... it hurts my eyes and it can look good but there a re point where artists don't use them right and its all over the place....

i dont get objectheads too. Idk not my cup of tea?

oh!! i dont like characters with animals and human ears (unless they're fake ears which is ok). Human and animal ears are weird... do they mutiple hearing..? idk

Junee

You how some people put a slice of the character's flesh on their character sheet? I hate that.

ClyncyeRudje

I'm at worst indifferent to most design choices i don't care for but i hate characters with both animal and human ears or animal ears on the top of their heads (exception for if they clearly connect at the side and are just Beeg), with the latter being more ignorable to me. It just bothers me in a way most artistic anatomical liberties don't.

e: actually no i also hate featherless raptors because it almost always comes from an anti-science viewpoint
