I dont know if you're serious or not...

Don't beg ! Art is a luxury and you can live without buying art, and do not stress artist by begging. Artists deserve being paid money.

I am wary of "draw stuff for them and hope they make you stuff back"... Many popular artists are cautious of kindness bc of this. You do NOT want to befriend them for free art !! Please.. draw them gifts bc of genuine thoughts and no secret intention like wanting free art from them. You get gifts from honest friendship, not benefits

Lastly, copy art style is a gray line... I'm ok with copying styles of popular anime for exanple, but if popular artist, I prefer taking inspirations bc I worry if I will steal their profit and hardwork if I copy their artstyle.. ^^;

Thats my 2 cents... My answer is to work hard and save money for commissions, its worth it even if it takes a while

Okay so what I so when I see artists I want to commission but cannot at the time, I paste their commission or user link in a google docs for later.

Luminiera i mean well i just wrote all the options i thought of?

AlleycatIrony

i usually just subscribe to the commission threads i have interest in commissioning! i rarely have the money mind u, but they're there for the off chance i do

ClyncyeRudje

I just accept that I can't afford them and maybe try to save up for the future, although in recent times that's out of the question for me (unfortunately, teeth are luxury bones 'round here).

galaxycreations

I'm honestly the first three,I'm inspired to keep creating but also wanna work more so I have spending money for commissions.

I try to offer art trades but I got laughed off of deviantart. Still came back since I have a couple friends there

@pinchurchin yea it is kinda scummy but idk. i sometimes to a quick peek just to skim why the eyes look weird or misaligned.

not really related but idk how people draw pupils like everytime i try it looks unsettling. i usually do like double colors  or direction of eyes to reflect where the oc is looking at

ZenoOfElea

idk is there a dif name or smth? well yea true. idk developing a style is kinda difficult especially if you have one in mind like realistic or anime its quite easy to fall into the frankenstein styles to form ur own.

emmon

I try for an art trade if the artists is in a similar skill level, keep an eye out for request openings, and save up!

Cry in broke ahahaha- Or, that's at least what I was doing until I started working and get some of that $$.

Okay but, back when I was still active  on deviantart I used to sell cheap adoptables for points (which I nowadays really wouldnt. 100 points isn't much.) and after saving them up look for an artist that I liked and accepted payment via points. Depending on the prices the adopts would sell at, it could take "forever" of course. But there are also a bunch of free bases that allow to be used for adopts. I don't know if that kinda way would work for you, but it helped bridge over my thirst for art, I suppose. Though I personally wouldn't really recommend it because what sells for only points is usually dirt cheap.

But yeah, the last 3 options don't generally sound good. Art Trades are still the best way to go I think.
