For those who use Ko-Fi

How do you guys like it?

I decided I wanted to use it instead of Patreon and I just wanted to know how others who use it like it?

Ko-Fi is okay. The only features I don’t like are that it doesn’t seem super specific on what adult content is (which you can’t post); there is a word limit to the titles; link don’t work; and I always have trouble getting interaction on there (or maybe that’s just me with all sites, lmao).

Other than that, it’s easy to use and does have nice features! Plus, there is less pressure to constantly post than Patreon since donating can be a one-time thing instead of monthly.

Not surprised by the vagueness of adult content (weird since they have an option for it buy oh well, not something I'd be doing anyway), that seems to be a common thing 😒

Title thing I guess I don't mind since I hate titling stuff anyway lmao and links I don't really do too often but I can see that being annoying

Kofi feels like that kind of site you only can advertise it on other socials to get any interaction. Though my page is somehow getting views and I don't really know how since I don't think you can see new and upcoming things on it? It likes to feature big gold member users 😅

You can have a paypal that has monthly payments like pateron and donations on kofi :P

Yeah! That's kinda why I switch bc I like having both membership and tips on the same site instead :D

Also just like how it looks more

I tried ko-fi for a while but I much prefer using Fiverr now, there are much more options for tagging your commission types so you get much more exposure than you would with ko-fi, plus a larger audience since fiverr is already a much larger platform than ko-fi. That's not their fault of course but Fiverr I've found is just a way better option for artists (of any kind!) than ko-fi, even though ko-fi is supposed to be for artists.

Hope this was helpful, if you have a large following you should do well with either but if not (like me) then I would recommend Fiverr!

Oh I forgot Fiverr was even a thing lmao, but that's interesting! But I don't plan on ever doing comms again any time soon, so Fiverr doesn't seem like it would work for what I wanna do. But I'll keep that in mind, thank you!

My impression is that Ko-Fi does seem more accessible to followers than Patreon cuz Patreon feels like a hardcore commitment, compared to Ko-Fi which feels like a casual way to crowdfund. I think the difficulty is in gaining traction with Ko-Fi, cuz a lot of well-known artists I see using it seem to get donations few and far in between, so I don't see it as a way to get a steady stream of income. Or at least so far I haven't seen it being used successfully for that? -Shrugs-

When I explore the artists on Ko-Fi, the site seems like a ghost town, maybe I'm being too negative tho ^-^;;

Honestly I don't see how you can find others through just Patreon/Ko-Fi itself unless you already know what you're looking for cx It always feels like they just show the big creators on there,,,

They always just seemed like a "promote this through your other socials" sort of thing
