great thread! you really outdid yourself but maybe on the common terms put what rlc means. i know it means real life currency but others might not
can I suggest maybe changing the yes and no symbol keys to something besides triangles? it gets a little confusing on the eyes when you have an inverted triangle on top of a regular triangle, and in informational guides like this it's better to have things be as clear as possible to avoid confusion!
Sorry for the late responses! I've been modding a Discord server, and
that takes up a lot of my time! I went through and changed what all
of you said as best as I could!
Aaa, thank you so much!! That would be greatly appreciated. <3
Done! Sorry, I didn't think to add that. Thanks for the suggestion!!
Fixed it! Thanks for telling me, I wouldn't have ever noticed otherwise.
Thank you!! And of course, that would help a lot!
I changed them! Are these any better?
Oh, yeah! I added it. I use Gaia daily, but it totally slipped my mind to
add it since. I wasn't aware you could trade them, though, that's
interesting. Thanks so much for the tip!!
im not sure if something that you have to download would fit in this thread or not but theres this program which is free on steam?
it's pretty detailed and unlike most character generators you see around its 3d, to my understanding it's geared towards people in japan to make vr avatars for the whole virtual youtuber trend thing so there's also like. a thing where you can move the character around with vr stuff?? so there is also that if you are one of the Chosen Few who can afford vr stuff. the character creator itself works fine without vr though and it runs fine on my computer which is Not Very Good with a lot of games so (shrug emoji becuase i didnt know how to finish sentence)
i have some examples of a couple things i made with it here (in a spoiler box because this post is probably getting too long already):
this was an attempt at recreating one of my ocs. i actually made a mistake attaching the wings to her headband so if she turns in some directions they will just float away. that was probably my fault for not having an english patch when i was trying to figure out how accessories attach. you should get an english patch for it if you want to have any idea what you are doing at all. unless you already understand japanese i guess then you'd be fine
and this is jsut a random dumb anime cat girl with a semi blinding color scheme. sometimes you just gotta make dumb anime cat girls with semi blinding color schemes. thats just how life is sometimes
the main issue with it is that its only available in japanese at the moment but i found an unofficial english patch for it by digging around in the steam discussions.
i'm not certain on what it allows as far as trading/selling designs goes though since pretty much all the documentation for it is japanese...i just have a vague idea of what their rules are for the models of the characters themselves are (my understanding is that you can pay to have the model uploaded to a site that lets you do some kind of vr stream-y thing with it? (which is also in japanese. lots of japanese that i do not understand. perhaps someone else does.) but you're not allowed to download the model to your computer to use in other things. it's very confusing to try and figure out what it means when i have mostly no idea what it is saying.) to be on the safe side i'd say assume that you can't sell designs for money unless someone can find an official statement to the contrary? hopefully there'll be some official english translations of everything soon, it's still in early access so hopefully once it gets closer to an official release there'll be some english documentation n stuff. but yeah to be on the safe side probably only use it to make characters for yourself or freebies? i suppose. shout out to google translate for not helping at all in my quest to figure this stuff out
Is it okay if I suggest the Charat Avatar Maker to be put on the list? It's a dollmaker where you can create your own humanoids, though you can also make your own anthros/furries. It's on a Japanese website.
I don't know Japanese that much, but I'm pretty sure that the characters made from there should be given out for free than via purchase with any currency.
not sure if anyone's suggested, but i would also check out subeta.net's avatars? a little bigger, similar to gaia's creator, except the art is a little better (imo) and the avatars are twice the size. still need an account to use the builder tho
