let's talk about what YOU'RE working on

It's really bare bones at the moment (like, I don't even have names sorted out or anything) but I'm very slowly developing a story idea that I'd like to write.

It basically focuses on a nineteen year old student of magic who lives with their mentor (who is around late thirties/early forties) in his big fancy house. The two are very close and Student might actually be a bit in live with Mentor. Anyway one day Student wakes up to a loud bang or something from the basement and when they run down there they find a swirling portal in the middle of the room. There's also no sign of Mentor anywhere in the house, but there's notes and open books in the basement about other worlds and portals and stuff. So Student waits for a couple days, hoping that Mentor will come back, and when he doesn't Student makes the decision to enter the portal and find him. Thus beginning a grand adventure across strange and wondrous worlds and all that jazz.

I'm basing a lot of it on my dreams so it should be fun!

For a couple years I've been working on a Pokemon Ranger story. I have the first 2 chapters written, but only one uploaded here. I lost track of where I put the 2nd chapter and need to find it before I can write more of the story.

If you don't know about pokemon rangers, they are like pokemon trainers mixed with firefighters and cops. They capture pokemon temporarily to protect people from natural disasters and from people that want to use Pokemon for evil. 

I originally was going to do a Pokemon and Sailor Moon crossover based on the Eeveelution lines. As I kept trying to come up with a story, I realized it would work better as a Pokemon Ranger story. 

In this world, each Pokemon ranger base focuses on a specific type. The type of base you get assigned to depends on the type of pokemon you have as your first partner pokemon. If you have a partner that is duel type, you can choose between those two bases. Otherwise, you have no choice. The main characters are going to have the different Eeveelutions as partners, and be assigned to the base of said Eeveelution's type.

I'm working on several literature-based projects, but my main project at this moment is my Advent Challenge collection. Basically, I'm writing a story (below 1K words) for every other day of December leading up to Christmas Eve, so by the end of it, I'll have 12 short stories. Each of them focuses on a different character of mine whom I randomly select out of a bag of name cards (so I can't plan every story out beforehand).

It's a very fun challenge which I definitely recommend trying! I've been doing variations of it every Christmas since 2013, but this is the first one that I'm posting online in its entirety.

I'm working on my art and story. Currently with art, I recently had a friend show me how to use the art program I've been scared of touching - so I'm just making a huge uphill climb to try and figure out how to make art I like over on a digital platform. Otherwise, with writing I've got one big main project I'm working on writing. It's a story that I've just kind of been thinking about over a handful of years, and I'm really pushing myself to go and write everything on a daily basis. I've participated in a few Nanowrimo's, so keeping on schedule isn't much of a problem. Either way, I'm just really pushing myself creatively - especially for the start of 2019, when I really want to settle myself down and work. Due to my current WIP state of character bio's on my main page - I'll try to make a short synopsis of my writing project below:

 Holly, an ambitious college freshman gets her world torn in two when she receives news of a mysterious tenant moving into her families home. Coming from a world completely different from hers, he invites her to experience his story and the supernatural abilities of his people and home. Unknown to both of them, this sets off a chain of events, bringing Holly and her group of friends in the center of a complicated war.

I'm currently working on three things 'v '/

One: Working the next Adoptable Freebie batch. I'm currently gathering up votes for this months batch. Along with a quick specail batch for those who miss out.

Two: Also working on making a few adoptables to sell in RLC or just DA points.

Three: Thinking about drawing out a short story for this Holiday ' v' / something fun for myself.

adelgirl POKEMON RANGERS ARE MY FAVE it's been a long time since i played any of the games but pokemon ranger fanfic was prob some of the first things i ever wrote. i think it's still my favorite part of the franchise. such a fun part of that world haha

Drowzee that's a cool concept!! my last big comic project(a book for monsters) started as a portal-y multiverse concept and i still think it's a really interesting framing for a story. there are inherently so many possibilities LOL

ok i'm working on a few different projects right now.

first i've been working on a webcomic called apocalypse story. it's a near-future sci-fi about a college student(veronika) and a british sex-worker-turned-spy(noah) who get hired to stop a supervillain televangelist couple who are suspected of trying to destroy the city. also feat. a teenage android who's in a folk band, a radio host who collects stories about monsters, and veronika's dad's shady tech empire which builds super advanced prosthetics. also 99% of the cast is queer

i'm also hoping to reboot my last comic which is an urban fantasy. it's about a little girl who's mysteriously turning into a bird monster, and the hellhound shapeshifter lady who helps her figure out the curse. it was a weekly long-form comic in 2016 but i think i'm going to reboot it in 16 page issues that i post on gumroad

also just started this story abt a persecuted queer writer who adopts a lil undead demon baby. it's the 1950s and there's a nuclear winter and everything is terrible. i'm rly attached to this story rn LOL

Once upon a time I was considering a webcomic, but as I only just got into digital art - and have a long way to go - I’ve been working on bringing the story into a novel format! So far, I’d say I almost prefer that choice for my own storywriting. And I use Clip art Studio!

I'm making a story called Doppelgangfur!  Not sure whether it's gonna be animated, a webcomic, or a novel yet, but I'm getting there.  Many of the characters (but not all) are anthros.

At age 10, Jasper Blakesley had already met his doppelganger.  The kind from another universe, to be exact.  He loved to cross the magic mirror connecting their worlds and go to play with his copy, who was one of his best friends. 

But one day, he went through the mirror, and his doppelganger was missing, and the alternate version of his hometown was deserted.  What happened?

Jasper finds out when he crosses the mirror as a 20 year old adult and finds his doppelganger.  Or rather, his doppelganger holds him hostage, and Jasper's friends have to find out what happened to the copy that made him disappear for ten years.  And what made him so violent?

I'm currently writing a [PROTOTYPE] crack fic where the protagonist tries (and fails) to be a superhero.

my bf and i had a webcomic running for a year... today he decided to cancel it, so i got the legal rights to all the characters and now im the one completely in charge.

Atm Ive partly deviated from learning Japanese to study the different types of Kimono.

I had an idea where I wanted to draw my OC as chibi doing cute or funny little things that occur to me as I learn the Japanese language and culture, but I want to draw her in a Kimono. Her, and the cast of canon characters in her story. But rather than just have them all wearing seasonal Kimono (as is traditional), I thought it would be more character-appropriate and cuter if they consistently wore a Kimono to match their personality and/or plot role, unless the drawing involves a specific cultural event calling for the appropriate kimono.

So I found a site where this huge kimono enthusiast shows off their collection, explaining every little detail in trying to date each old kimono down to the era they were made and if they were ever repaired, or made from one kimono type to another... the articles are far more facinating than I anticipated. Rather than just jotting down what makes each kimono type stand on its own (which is all I need for the chibi drawings) Im taking ALL the notes from floss-silk to dyeing techniques as they changed through the eras... its all distracting, lol (hello, A.D.D.), but just too enthralling to ignore. I mean, Im going to be learning it at some point a n y w a y... 👀

Eventually I'll get the chibis drawn ^^; until then, its p cool to find a new special interest. <333

I'm working on a project together with my queer-platonic partner. It started as an idea for a webcomic but I'm not sure if it'll actually become a webcomic or if it will become some other form of art-related storytelling (like a visual novel or something I'd love to make in an animated series but my animation skills aren't good enough for that ;;)
