I usually sketch in red and when i'm lining I lower the opacity! But if i'm drawing 2 characters, I use green for the second character
Pretty simple question. What colour do you sketch with and why? This is assuming you're going to line the sketch and not use it as lineart
I use to sketch in red but a friend of mine is colour blind, so they see red as yellow. After they told me that I started to sketch in light blue, and I've been doing that ever since
I sketch with the color of the characters eyes!
I'm not sure why did I start doing it, been doing it for so long haha! It's especially helpful when working with more than one character
I usually set the background to a dark grey and sketch with a lighter grey ^^ recently, though, I've been using neon-ish blue, pink, and purple to distinguish different parts of the sketch from each other, and make it easier to look at.
i use any saturated colour but my go to is red and blue! When Im boutta line it though, I have the opacity reduced so they become a light shade :v and I also dont accidentally line the wrong layer difkdjs,m
i've been known to change it up depending on the mood, but my default is a pale grey that will get darker as i add additional sketch layers. i've worked with light blue before as well in a similar way, but recently, to avoid the 'black lines problem' i've been sketching in a red-tinted medium gray.
If I'm sketching digital I use rainbow really.. a different color for each piece of the sketch. I don't know what but it just works better for me.
Traditionally though I tend to use either light blue or a vibrant orange depending on what the feeling of the picture is or my particular mood that day.
I tend to just pick a random color, but more often than not it's a pretty neon green I start with at least
When it's multiple characters I tend to pick a color from them to sketch in, like some others have mentioned doing!
I have two sketch styles! When I plan to take a piece out of the sketch phase and into something with proper lineart, I use a light red. If the piece is just going to be a sketch, I typically leave my lines black. Red is the easiest for me to visualize and doesn't hurt my line of vision when I go to lineart, so I've found that the best color to work with for more advanced pieces.
