edit: i mean you will probably have to ask specific users why they do it but i feel like that's mostly what i've seen it used for

it can be used for organization ! in the default ordering special characters like ()[]{}*!~ , etc, can change how characters are ordered , so a character named [BOB] instead of BOB would either be at the very front or very back, i forget exactly where they get sent sdfghjk
