it’s exactly what it says on the tin ; what would your story/main universe/whatever be like if it was a show/series?

feel free to answer freeform or answer some questions i made up if you’d like ?

-how would it be shown? live action, western animation, anime, cgi animated, etc

-what would the main genre be?

-how long would it run for?

-how long would episodes be? common times are 11, 15, or 30 minutes or over an hour

-how would the story be divided and formatted between episodes and seasons?

-what would the opening theme be?

-what would the ending theme be?

try to keep things non related to hypothetical fandoms, there’s a thread for that

ParadiseLost

Free from Time would definitely be an anime, probably would fit into the same sort of story as The Seven Deadly Sins and Fairy Tail due to magical involvement and (especially convincing for similarity to Fairy Tail) an inordinate amount of the main characters having parent issues (Alice, Runuya, technically Trixie, Yuuki, Fate). In typical anime fashion it would run for about 24 episodes of 25 minutes each for a total of 10 hours. It would be all one season.

The opening theme would absolutely be Runuya's theme song. Not sure about a closing theme though.

aaawhyme

HAHA

I would love a liveaction netflix adaption. Ideally it would be fun to see it in the dark artsty style like how Hannibal is done. Where you kinda have to squint to see anything because its so dark. but like, its also got lots of creepy shit and epic scenes to good music. i dunno. i can dream. or even a style like Westworld?

but I'd also be happy with an anime. something like tokyo ghoul (though I've never seen this, I feel like it'd be this sort of style), death note, kuroshitsuji etc. something like that. I'd be happy with something even like Ajin too, that sort of 3D look is really cool if it's done right!

main genre would be action thriller or horror.

It would be something probably super edgy and later on people would probably find it boarderline cringy when they remember it, OBVIOUSLY and could possibly be popular with angsty teenagers I think. haha -i'moutoftouch hellofellowkids

No doubt it would inevitably get canceled though ahahaa like one or two seasons. maybe a movie if it's lucky.

Opening themes. okay, so i dont know what song that would be. but i can show you the type of style I love when it comes to opening themes. Epic music, and slowmotion close ups and shit.I have a youtube playlist for this style of filming

opening themes like westworld, hannibal, daredevil etc.

music theme for the opening?

Like this song, not the rap part but the epic sounding shiiit

Ending theme? Honestly, just a black background with credits, and whatever music was recently playing at the end of the episode. Like how game of thrones does it.  Or no music at all. just black background.

This might be too slow... i dunno

ahhh it's nice to dream about, that's for sure ahaha i'mmanerd

Lilina

Devil Lollipop would probably be a mix of both western animation and anime, and it would be like a mix between Soul Eater, Villainous, and Hazbin Hotel wirh a Kirby-like aesthetic to it. The series would also be pretty dark, and have more violence included.

The opening theme would start off sounding cheery, but 15 seconds into the song, it becomes a lot more grim. The ending theme would just have an eerie-sounding piano playing during the credits.

Its genre would probably be dark fantasy, and would probably be targeted to teens.

oh dang this is a fun concept, imma post here to remember this forum and write more later aksdalsd

fizzelston

I think "wet socks" is going to be a meme if my story is ever translated to an adaptation

Caine

This is such a good thread!! I decided to do this for Sinfonia

How would it be shown?

Give me the forbidden 90s World Masterpiece Theater anime.......... Either that or just anime with the aesthetics of an older 80s/90s production since while I love WMT the style can be pretty bland sometimes? And ridiculously long eyelashes on boys are a Must and WMT usually doesn't give that to me

What would the main genre be?

Drama

How long would it run for?

If it's a WMT anime then probably that semi-standard 30-ish episodes, as a regular anime I guess 24

How long would episodes be? common times are 11, 15, or 30 minutes or over an hour

20min/episode including OP and ED

How would the story be divided and formatted between episodes and seasons?

I think just simply half and half since Sinfonia has 8 weeks in total so weeks 1-4 and 5-8

What would the opening theme be?

As much as I'd love this kind of explosive music like in Umineko I think something slower would portray the story better. Maybe like this

What would the ending theme be?

Probably something like this! Except I'd prefer it to stay somewhat melancholic the whole way through

mvisons

I honestly think about this a lot lol.

-how would it be shown? live action, western animation, anime, cgi animated, etc

It'd be cool if it was animated but I'd love if it was live action. I'd want either FOX, Netflix, Showtime, or HBO to do it.

-what would the main genre be?

Historical Urban Fantasy

-how long would it run for?

Quite a few seasons/years.

-how long would episodes be? common times are 11, 15, or 30 minutes or over an hour

I would want episodes to be at the least 45 minutes, at the most an hour. Maybe a few 1hr 30 min or 2 hr specials thrown in for like the climax and the last episode.

-how would the story be divided and formatted between episodes and seasons?

I would want each one of my stories to be a season. The first season would be my story "The Sisters" and the second would be my story "Many Mansions." As I create more stories I'd like more seasons.

-what would the opening theme be?

Go Down Moses by Louis Armstrong for the first season. It fits the storyline very well. I have no clue for the second season lol.

-what would the ending theme be?

Guns n' Roses by Tory Lanez for the first season, it fits the main characters and their relationships.

Another note, I can just imagine the opening scene of the first episode being full of pretty colors and beautiful sights, plus a really nice looking train whilst East Atlanta Love Letter by 6lack plays. Then in the ending scene, the same song plays with similar colors and a similar train.

zinnia

shows up late 2 my own thread

for the main bastards cuz theyre the only guys i talk about

-how would it be shown? live action, western animation, anime, cgi animated, etc

definitely anime styled :p probably something similar to memories of phantasm in style specifically

-what would the main genre be?

im throwing memories of phantasm out here again cuz it'd be like...... some episodes are dumb silly slice of life type deals, while others would get pretty serious. one episode stars a character trying to find a silly gift for someone and then the next features a near apocalyptic calamity..... its wild

-how long would it run for?

who knows......... not me

-how long would episodes be? common times are 11, 15, or 30 minutes or over an hour

probably short, like 11 minutes. more serious ones would probably be longer, up to an 45 mins

-how would the story be divided and formatted between episodes and seasons?

the first season would definitely be like.... at the 'start' of the whole thing with that whole delta episode deal, and halfway through might do a shift to sinnoh. flashback eps would give more info on characters who are already dead like orchid (or semi-dead like aster), and what happened before the events of the start. the first season would end with the whole mt coronet/ridley thing and orchid finally getting justice.

the second season would shift to LUNE'S FUCKHOUSE , aka.... unova. it would almost seem like a spinoff because the original characters don't interact much and are more doing their own thing at the time, but the second season would likely cover both plasma incidents as well as whatever the hell came afterwards, leading with a season cut where lune gets married and makes her way to alola , where both the original and second sets of characters kinda come together?

after that chronologically is alola / johto but alola and johto's arcs have like.... opposite tones so idk how that'd even work

the ratio of serious to slice of life type stuff would be a bunch more soft stuff in season one with season 2 being a lot more serious overall with all the soft stuff at the end

i just realized this paragraph probably makes no sense to anybody other than me.. whoops

-what would the opening theme be?

s1 would maybe be something like this ?

probably like.. this for s2 just cuz i associate lune so strongly with seiga's theme and also it slaps

-what would the ending theme be?

someone already said this but definitely kekkai sensen's type of credits......... the first time i saw it was actually from a remake with pokemon characters and it rocked my socks

id imagine more serious episodes or episodes focused on one character would have an alternate ending theme because that wouldnt fit asdfghj

Hag

i can really imagine my "main" high fantasy world being Game of Thrones style show (everyone is a mess, or dies, or all of the above)
orrrrr like, a hella weird (extremely tangential) david lynch-esque movie ala Dune lol

Ledokol

I'll go with my Artificial Existence project since it's the only one invested enough regarding solid, continuous plot involving all OCs in this verse.

-how would it be shown? live action, western animation, anime, cgi animated, etc

Live action is probably out of question despite most casts can fit perfectly with natural genetic of humans. I'm thinking either 2D anime or CGI animated... but admittedly lean more toward the latter. CGI animated probably portrays the effect of their weaponry better, though it's not like there's many opportunities to show such scene anyway.

-what would the main genre be?

          Sci-fi and drama.

-how long would it run for?

Actually I envision it to be more of CGI animated movie than series of anime. Series of anime would be an absolute nightmare because it will allow to add minor plots in place of just focusing on 'main' plot like movie. If it was to be anime series, I'd expect it to explode into something like 5 seasons of 24-30 episodes each? Instead as CGI animated movie, the main plot can be split into two 3-hour movies.

-how long would episodes be? common times are 11, 15, or 30 minutes or over an hour

3 hours give or take for movie. If anime then 30 minutes.

-how would the story be divided and formatted between episodes and seasons?

I'm thinking that the first movie would cover from the starting point of the plot's timeline - in 1980 until sometimes from early to middle of the 90s, after the collapse of the USSR. This part will cover the situation of the USSR Navy at this late highest point and its collapse. The second movie likely tells about how the 'survivors' make peace with themselves and how some of them hang on to the hope that their good friend/brother will be reactivated. Also, about how a few that survived by being sold to foreign nations cope(or forget) with their past life.

-what would the opening theme be?

...I'm not quite decisive about this. On one hand I want to use songs that associated with the USSR/Russian Navy in RL but would prefer to keep political element at minimum. Hopefully, Яблочко (Yablochko) or Doroga na Flot (warning the clip featured USSR Navy warships and insignia but it has English translation of the lyric) would be acceptable? The latter would be fitting for the first movie that will focus on the very last decade of USSR's existence while the former may work for the second movie.

-what would the ending theme be?

Maybe something like... 【Taishi】Walking to Endless Life or Alina Orlova - Golubi. Just a song that would reflect how 'empty' many of the survivors feel with the lost of their brothers/friends/androids they looked up to.

Great-Vegetables

-how would it be shown? live action, western animation, anime, cgi animated, etc

My story would have to have live action and animated cgi. Reason being is that I see my characters as real people, and cgi would make all of the effects of magic, flying, and my characters transformations look wicked cool.

-what would the main genre be?

- Action/ Drama, my charactors are just really frustrated with each other.

-how long would it run for?

Not sure

-how long would episodes be? common times are 11, 15, or 30 minutes or over an hour

It would be a 3  part movie, with each movie adding a bit more to the story.

-how would the story be divided and formatted between episodes and seasons?

The story start with one of my characters drama, the world is going to end. Next thing you know these kids have superpowers.
