Maybe she just faces a unique challenge there in that she has to put more work into explicitly trying to blend in? i dont know much about nier and didnt realize the character designs id seen for it werent intended to be human! so i think a human could probably pass for an android in that universe if theyre being careful, though i may be wrong since im not super familiar with it.
hi! so i have a shapeshifter (her name is spierce!) whose abilities work around the idea that different species have differently shaped souls. her soul can mimic those shapes, thus allowing her to shapeshift into those species. however, she can't control this shapeshifting herself. it's all handled by her soul itself, which does a sweep of the planet she's on to find a soul that:
- matches her soul closely enough to minimize how much her soul needs to shift, and
- will allow her to blend in wherever she is.
spierce is also a universe hopper, and i generally put her into the universes of shows/games/etc that i like! her universe hopping and shapeshifting combined mean that these excursions to different universes aren't AUs; rather, they're all part of her main verse, as she actively travels between them.
now... for my problem. i've REALLY been into nier automata lately, and i want spierce to go to the nier universe.
however... there aren't any humans on earth in nier automata. in fact, there aren't any biological species on earth at all! therefore, spierce is unable to blend in.
how can i put spierce into nier automata, knowing that she can't just turn into an android? <:) any and all advice is welcomed!
How far are you into the game (and have you played the first one)? If you're post ending E there's some lore that exists outside the games that are attached to both Nier and Nier:A that you could probably squeeze enough to say "Androids on Earth have souls".
