Pillowfort!

Pillowfort is a tumblr alternative currently in beta; It's a really nice site with a lot of privacy options, a robust blacklist feature that can target words in either the post or tags, and a really cool community feature that lets you easily find other users who like what you like!

This tweet thread has over a dozen invite codes in it! Join, share your profiles! e: Available URLs in this tweet.

(Gah had to delete my previous post since I posted too late)

Did the staff take them down? I'm glad the communities were reported, but in light of recent events, I don't think I'll ever get back to this site unfortunately. I became aware of the whole situation when I first saw that tweet...

I'm honestly disappointed that the pedophilic/incestous content took about 3 years for them to be taken down. I felt that the PillowFort staff could've taken action much earlier.

Anyways, I apologize for being the bearer of such bad news. I was shocked that I learned something not-so-good from the tweet...

Unless there was an actual timestamp for the screenshots that wasn't visible from your screenshots of the tweets I find it quite unlikely that they were there despite being reported for three years, the moderation isn't that slow--I've reported posts for the relatively minor offense of improper nsfw flagging and had a decent turnaround. You can't just look at things and go "ew", you need to actually hit the report button.

I actually reported someone a few months ago for pedophilic content and I was personally disappointed by the time it took them to respond. I feel like they must have done something about it very recently b/c I kept tabs on the user I reported for about a month and then gave up on it. Idk, I'm sure they are busy but it seemed like a clear cut case, a pretty brazen example of such content... but searching the same tag he used (I won't say what it is, but it's a tag associated with such content and I mentioned the tag in my report message) I can still find content on this tag as old as 7 months.

I really like pillowfort and I think they can learn and improve upon this (everyone makes mistakes) but yeah. I feel like tags directly related to pedophilic content should be automatically flagged or smth.

Yeah pedophilic content could've been taken down right away. It's odd that they didn't do that immediately.

I've asked mods a couple things and never got replies so I think they might be in a similar situation as toyhouse, just not as bad.

Anyway, to anyone who may have donated to the site, or uses the same passwords across all your accounts (stop that): https://twitter.com/aquaqueer/status/1354096981560479744?s=19

tl;dr Security is bad; nothing has happened as far as anyone knows, but if you've donated it might not be difficult to swipe credit card info or your login password. I have a javascript blocker so I'm not terribly worried about myself but it's not great.
