Have a certain video, tv show, movie, short or game thats on the tip of your tongue, or that youve been trying to find but can’t seem to find any info on it? I’ve been there! If so, this is the thread for you!

Share your mysteries to others, or help others with finding stuff about that specific media! I’ve always had a huge passion with this type of stuff so I’d love to help if I find anything of use!

can be super recent, can be super old. Can be a YouTube video, or it can be a tv show, movie, or a video game! ANYTHING.

god I’ve been meaning to make a thread like this for a while but I always forget to :( . This thread is heavily inspired by r/tipofmytongue and blameitonjorge (he makes a ton of lost media discovery videos! Go watch em if you’re interested in that stuff, it’s REALLY interesting and well made! Prob one of my favorites so far atm).

Okay so I'm at the point where I think I might've just dreamed this, but I swear it was a real episode.

TV show. I saw it in the 2010s I wanna say early to mid. Medical show.
I could've sworn it was a House episode! But I've rewatched the series (Minus a handful episodes I can't handle) and I didn't see it???

It started off with a young kid (Male I believe?) With his parents outside. I think they were at a picnic table or something. The kid starts coughing and that worries the parents enough to take him to the hospital. The doctors treat him and they only made him worse. That's until they realize the kid was never actually sick. The parents were just overly worried about their kid.

That's all I remember. I thought it was an episode of House in a later season. I've looked through the House wiki and didn't find anything unless I skimmed over it.

I guess I'll give this out a try.

Long time ago, I found a youtube video with this game.

If I recall correctly, I'm pretty sure the protag is male and have tanned skin. I'm pretty sure he has purple hair or maybe white hair. I thought it was tale of game but it's not?? That's how I originally found it by tales of amv and saw gameplay. All I know the ending is his love interest got hurt and he sacrificed himself to keep her alive. I'm 98% sure it was JRPG

BIRD

Jhielin I found this? I haven’t watched the whole playthrough and I’m not exactly sure what tales is but it does seem to fit a bit of what you explained! I’ll look a bit more into it if it isn’t

H00DIE It's sadly not it! But it does seem interesting! All I can remember it was like maybe 3d Chibis but its been so long ;;;

oooh theres this story i read in middleschool in the early to mid 2000s and it was kinda like a creepy pasta and it creeped me out a lot but in a good way and i alwasy wanted to know what it was

this was in a book or textbook that we read in class and this is how the story went:

MC = main character to keep things short

MC finds a jigsaw puzzle box that is very mysterious and has no labels on it (so you dont know what the pic will be), this is either in someones attic or something like that or in an old shop

MC takes the jigsaw puzzle home and its during a thunderstorm

MC works on the jigsaw puzzle and then realizes the image in the jigsaw is of the MC doing the jigsaw puzzle but theres something or someone in the window

MC looks out the window to see what that thing is

and the story ends there

ok i decided to google it to see if i could find it and i found it here it is if u want to read

this is gonna sound so dumb when i explain this, but it's a random vivid scene i remember watching as a child but i don't remember what the movie is at all and i can be completely remembering it wrong

i think the movie was older than me, but i don't recall if it used vhs or dvds, however i do recall the movie needing 3-4 (or a lot of) different vhs/ dvds to watch the whole thing, and each of them was (at least it felt like) super long

i don't remember much of the entire plot, but i believe there were several different stories that were followed, like it would follow a story of a character escaping a prison, and another story of a shopkeeper (note these are just examples, i don't remember what characters or stories there were) and they all lived in the same world at the same time and somehow gets interconnected with each other

the setting was a medieval fantasy and.......... that's all i can remember. but, this one very specific scene i remember was that there were two characters. a prince and (i think?) a bandit/ convict (i believe there was a woman there too? entirely unsure). but the prince was cursed and was turned into a dog, specifically a golden retriever, and i think the bandit had black clothes. in the scene, the bandit was reclined in the wagon and was reading a book with the prince beside him, and when the bandit turns the page, the prince cuts in with a "uh i was still reading that page" and the bandit looks at him annoyed but turns the page back. then the scene ends and cuts to the characters arriving at their destination. i also don't think they movie was able to do any airbuddies effects where they have the dog's mouth move when it talks, i think it literally just sat there with the prince's voice over

again i could be remembering it totally wrong, but the scene is literally the only thing i can 90% confidently remember

EDIT: literally right after making this post, i looked up "prince cursed to be a dog golden retriever" and got The 10th Kingdom which could be it, but currently reading up on it

EDIT 2: OH MY GOD i think it IS The 10th Kingdom, but now i'm desperately looking for that specific scene again and WOW did i totally misremembered a lot of things

There are two (or possibly one) that spring to mind, both seen in the 1990's but possibly from an earlier time:

-A cartoon series I really liked where, I believe, the opening involved the characters making their way down from a space station in the planets' orbit. Like, them getting a notification and all getting into their respective vehicle(s) and going down. I think there was a german shepherd as well. I want to see that opening to compare it to my minds' eye.

-A cartoon series that I only saw a couple of episodes of where I remember two scenes:

1. A male main character, in the sea, drowning, when a set of artificial gills that someone (the bad guy?) had put on his neck starts working, enabling him to breathe

2. An invisible army (or just a group?) of robots or armored henchmen, who'se presence the good guys are tipped off to due to noticing footprints appearing in the sand.

That's it. Nothing creepy, just an old cartoon but it bugs me because so far neither Google nor tvtropes nor watching random old cartoon scenes on YouTube have been of help XD

So.. It's a book I've read in high school countless times. A girl named Raven (?) can transform into birds and her mother is pregnant with this royal guy's baby. The guy is apparently evil so that's why she ran away. She meets a young boy who has the ability to transform into big cats and the two set out to fight this man and save her mother. I'm sure it's called Raven but I can't find it

The picture on the book is of a girl but there is a crow (or raven) covering half of her head.

Cliodna are you mentioning the Jetsons?

OHH my godddd thank you so much for talking about this. i've been trying to find this miniseries forever but i had the wrong title - i kept searching for the 7th kingdom and not finding anything like it. my mom and i used to watch this when i was little and i've wanted to relocate it so badly. thank you so much, holy shit

i'm pretty sure that there was also an actual dog that the evil queen turned human to take the place of the prince, and there were plot points around him not being sure how to act human and doing doglike things. it's been a really long time since i've seen any of it but i do kind of remember that.

oh yeah!! when i read up on it and read about the dog turning to look like the prince but not act like him was one of the things that made me realize it was that series i was thinking of since that made me vaguely remember some scenes w/ him :'D never expected to find someone on here that knew of the series either, but glad i could help in some way!

alright THIS one i actually can't find lmao. it's from a book series but i only remember reading the first book (or probably even just the first part of the first book). it wasn't a graphic novel and i think it was mostly a fantasy book?

i can only remember a specific scene in which the Main Character (MC) gets transported into another world and he(?) is kinda like a chosen one with special powers to unlock to save the world he was transported in. one of the ways he was trained to become a worthy hero/ to unlock his hidden abilities, was that he was playing a game that was pretty much like dodgeball. all MC had to do was avoid getting hit(?) but i remember that he noticed that the balls were either covered or filled with some red paint/ fake blood, so when he gets hit it looks like he was injured in a real battle.

i don't remember the results and if he was playing the game by himself or with others, but i just remember that when you get hit there's fake blood and it's made to look like you got injured. and his powers sorta get unlocked during the game where he's able to concentrate on the fast moving throws. i sorta recall the title of the book being long and either the book title starting with an A or MC's name starting with A. this is purely from really vague and fuzzy memory but i think the book cover had the title in bold white font and the cover was kinda like a glossy red

this is a long shot but. I remember reading a book when I was in 7th grade (so 2015/2016), at which point it wasn't new but also not particulalry old iirc? it was set in japan about a teenage girl going to the countryside during summer vacation. at first she was really not happy with the idea of going to the countryside for the summer and iirc near the beginning, while they were still in the car ride there, she complained about the signal for her phone going out. she had a younger sibling (I think brother?) and they went to the convenience store (?) and befriended some other kids, I think some slightly older guys? but either the guys or the main character were put off by the other or something like that. the main character also ended up involved in some sort of supernatural issue that included a kitsune, magic/special sandals, one of those old lady youkai, a rokurokubi at some point, darkness trying to take over everything (? or something like that) and the main character somehow dispelling it and being thanked by some powerful youkai (I think the prince? or something like that). I also remember that her friends from tokyo were planning to invite a girl they didn't like to karaoke and then excuse themselves one by one to go use the bathroom or something like that but weren't going to come back and leave the girl with the entire bill, which at first she either didn't care about or found funny, but at the end of the novel she decided to text the girl the entire plan so she could avoid it/be aware of what was going to happen. I vaguely recall that the author wasn't japanese, but I might be misremembering that? I've tried looking around here and there but I can't seem to find the book ;;

edit: like 10 months later i finally found the book! it's The Night Parade by Kathryn Tanquary

SharkEggs

I doubt i‘ll find someone who’ve seen this since it seemed like a very obscure film and i remember barely any scenes from it but when i was in elementary school they showed us an animated movie and literally the only thing I remember is there was a scene where a horsedrawn carriage fell from a bridge into water and killed the people in it, and there was ghosts at one point

cinsin

ooh! i was just looking for something like this for two things

one is a live-action show / series that was on dvd when i was younger that id always borrow from the library. it was about this chest that had a bunch of costumes and props and these kids would use the costumes and i think in each episode (they were short btw, it was more like 3-5 minutes long each) theyd play pretend in some random scenario, oftentimes with a song. the one episode i specifically remember is this girl being transported inside a CD and getting annoyed that everyone was playing around instead of working. she eventually warms up and joins in, but then it was time for everyone to get back to work so they in turn got mad at the girl for fooling around, but then they all played after? idk. there was also another episode about like pirates finding treasure but i dont remember it too well

the second one i dont have the best memory of it, but it was a show i saw on disney channel when i was in a different country. from what i remember, i think it was made in canada? it was about a boy who had a giant bunny thing as a friend. the bunny thing was kinda dumb and got into a lot of shenanigans. unfortunately i cant really remember much else about it but ive tried searching for it on wikipedia's list of disney channel shows but i cant find it

BIRD

cinsin

aaaaa I cant seem to find anything for the first one but I think I might’ve found a few potential shows for the 2nd one!

The one that stood out to me the most is when I searched up “disney channel bunny”, scrolled down a bit and found this! It doesn’t come from Canada, but it is from France, + it’s original language is French so it’s pretty close?
