What was your dream job as a kid?

( IC glitch oops) Impulsive thread, as far as I know it doesn’t exist yet. I saw someone ask the same question for people’s characters in the character discussion forum, so I thought I’d try it here!

Anyway, what was your dream job when you were a kid? Do you still have that dream job? Are you in that job now?

I used to want to be a scientist when I was around 5, specifically an entomologist. I think I just thought “bugs cool” and wanted to discover new species. I definitely wouldn’t want to be one now, I’m not big-brained enough and I’ve shifted a lot more to art than science. Nowadays I want to be a musician + artist.

i really, really wanted to be a gamedev - specifically i wanted to make a virtual world a la webkinz, animal jam, etc etc.

and while its not really a 'job' and more of a passion project (i sure as hell am NOT getting paid :v) i do that now via secondlife! as slow as my progress might be bc of my health

_{the age of virtual worlds i loved is gone for the most part and now its all a bleached 'metaverse' nightmare but i'm thankful SL is kind of an outpost for people who wanna make weird interactive stuff}

Always wanted to be a vet as well and low and behold started on the first of November of this year and so far been excited to get to it. Its vet assistant with pet grooming, excited to get to the part where we do actual practices.

A vet until I grew up and realized how horrible it would be.
So instead I wanted to be a scientist.

In a similar vain I remember when I was younger I used to want to rule the world so I could explore everyone’s houses. I had a weird obsession at the time of exploring every house my parents took me to back then for some reason.

looks like it's a pretty common one but i wanted to be a vet as a kid lol. had to give it up both for financial reasons (school too expensive😔) and realizing it's a,,, lot worse than I thought lol.

instead im in the process of becoming a direct support professional! i just have to meet with the company tomorrow then im set to start whenever the family im working with wants me to

Well for some reason I really wanted to be one of those clown people who make balloon animals. That quickly moved on to wanting to be a youtuber.
I still would enjoy being a youtuber but my career goal now is to start my own small business making props and costumes for the cosplay and furry community.
