Also suggest some good books/authors if u like to read cuz I have no idea where to go after I finish WOF. And feel free to give me your favorite book or favorite author or something, I mostly just wanna talk abt reading rn lmaooo.

Also if someone else alredy did this can someone link it? I don't wanna take an idea that already exists

Anyways I'm like a solid 2-3 on the poll. I read often but it's mostly stuff I get attached too like Warriors or recently, Wings of Fire. Though I've been getting distracted and writing my own stuff or just forgetting how books work.

c0smos omg pls teach me ur ways

At my height of reading, I would read like 1 500-800 page book in a week, and like a few shorter books in the same time. If I could read 12 books in a week, I would probably read every single book in my house within like a month or two

Murphy ooh that's neat !! :0

For me personally, I can't pay attention to online reading unless it's very very interesting or something, so I actually have never read fanfic unless you count reading nsfw fics for a joke

Omg I have only gotten to the 3rd book!! I don't have access to the books irl atm so I'm using the help of an audiobook to help me focus. It's a rlly cool series and I think I'm gonna see if I can find it at the library next to my school when school starts up again so I can read it more.

Also I might have to check out His Majesty's Dragon, I've never heard of it before :0

5th option sums me up well. I literally only read books when I was forced to for school. I've never done it out of my own free will. I just don't have the attention span, and it's just... boring. If there's no visuals to keep me entertained, I just can't find interest in things. That's why I prefer cartoons. And tbh, I kind of find it hard to visualise things when there's not anything to.. physically look at? yeah. Definitely not my thing.

People say reading books makes you smarter or smth, but that would really only be true if you're reading actual like, educational books. Fantasy books aren't going to make you smarter than anyone else who engages in media in different ways, so I'm not sure where this stereotype comes from.

That being said though, I do write! Well... I haven't written any actual story or anything, but I just enjoy writing weird little tidbits about my characters and then compiling them into giant lists. If that counts.

junishroom I did hear that Heartstopper apparently has ace representation, which is really cool, but... I literally don't watch anything other than cartoons, so... I can't say I have any interest in watching it myself.

I used to read a LOT when I was younger, talking about prolly multiple books a week, maybe even a day. Then stuff happened and I kinda lost it, but now Im getting back to reading and have been reading often-ish :) I wish I read more though, since Im obsessed with buying books lol, I currently have several unread books and just ordered four more yesterday....

I mostly read similar stuff to when I read younger (like ages 9-13? maybe?) even though Im 18 now, but its ok I enjoy the fantasy etc books :)

Some recommendations are Survivors (bc you mentioned Warriors lol),
and all the "basic" stuff: Percy Jackson (and other series by Rick Riordan), Maze Runner, Hunger Games, Divergent, Harry Potter etc

Then some that I havent really seen people talk about:
Half Bad - a trilogy + a short story, its about witches but is also a bit hard and emotional to read (CW: it deals with racism)
Fablehaven - 5 books, fairies and other mythical creatures!!
The Books of Beginning - a trilogy (Emerald Atlas is the first book), though I have only read the first two yet, it has magical books :)
The Thirteen Treasures - a trilogy (+ a short story which I only recently got to know of so havent read), more fairies!! One of my fave trilogies!!
Vampirates - 6 books, the name is pretty self explanatory.... vampire pirates!!!

I also have some like, single books, but decided to recommend these lol. I have more series too but many of them I dont think are available in english so rip
Also sorry for the long message, I like books and get exited when I get to talk about them lol

(Also SherbetToons , I think the "reading books makes you smarter" is because your brain is a muscle and it gets trained by doing stuff, for example reading. Plus fantasy books can teach about real life stuff too, and reading in general can make your language skills better. Though its true it wont really make you smarter than other types of media engaging as you said ^^ also, if you need visuals, graphic novels are great too, for example Heartstopper (def recommend!) that recently got really popular! /lh)

I used to read sooo much, but fell out of that habit and reading new books a couple years ago. I really wanted to get back into it though recently, so I started re reading series I enjoyed when I was younger. Like Maze runner - I'm almost done with the first book and I already have another series picked out that I haven't read after that. I think it's called unwind, but I may be mistaken.

I also started reading them on my phone; I figured part of the reason I've had so much trouble reading lately is because my phone just didn't let me since I'd always just go on that instead, but reading it on my phone helps!

The last couple books I actually read and enjoyed were Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini and The Wonderling by Mira Bartok. Kite runner had me crying but I absolutely love the Author's works. The Wonderling was nice to read but didn't have a huge impact on me or anything.

But I used to read like 10 books a week, to the point my Mom would be annoyed and have to take whatever I was reading away if it prevented me from doing chores. I read the entire Harry potter series in a week once; those were the good times.

I like reading but i'm really picky so it's pretty hard for me to find books i enjoy, also not a big fan of big book series so it's even more limiting sadly lol...

My favorite book is The girl with all the gifts by M. R. Carey, it's a huge comfort for me (kieran gallagher my beloved ❤️), I've also read part of The boy on the bridge which takes place in the same universe but unfortunately the publishing house (unsure if that's how they are called) in my language printed all the books with the pages jumbled up and some even missing so i couldn't continue reading, i'm still very salty about this, seriously how did they fuck up that much ? Well sure i could just buy it in english but i'm stubborn and the cover wouldn't match with tgwatg so i'll just wait for a new print LOL. But anyway lmao at least i can re-read Tgwatg for the 10th time ! Though as a heads up it got quite a bit of mature content.

I'm also a big fan of The invisible man by H. G. Wells, it's also a comfort, though i need to buy it again cause i let my friend borrow it and they gave it back broken... (well to be fair the book was quite old and fragile already)

Another book i like is Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer, i bought the whole Southern Reach trilogy but i won't lie the other 2 weren't as good in my opinion, still were very interesting reads !

Finally i've read Gallant by V. E. Schwab not too long ago, the book cover really caught my eyes, it's so beautiful ! Tbh i expected more cosmic horror from it but i still really enjoyed the story and characters.

Oh and i almost forgot ! I'm also a big fan of The Neverending Story by Michael Ende ! I used to LOVE the first movie as a kid so that was to expect that i would love the book as well hah

Also sorry if anything is written weirdly, english isn't my first language aaa
