Hello and welcome to the JJBA discussion thread! As the title may imply, this thread exists as a discussion thread for all things jojo - whether it be the anime, manga, or any of the aspect of the fandom that you wish to talk about. As of now there isn't a set list of rules to abide by, but I do ask that you tag spoilers, remain polite to your fellow users, and refrain from 18+ conversation. Nonetheless, feel free to scream about the jojo!!

Aaand, I suppose that I should answer my own questions!

I can't remember the specifics, but I believe that I had seen a mixture of clever memes and fanart in relation to JJBA. At the time I'd been looking for something to watch, and well, here I am!
I've read/watched up to Jojolion, but have given it a break with the intention of returning to it soon. I initially watched the first three seasons of the anime, then caught myself up with the manga.
My favourite characters hands down are Risotto and Doppio. However, I also have special spots for Prosciutto, Mista, Fugo, Okuyasu, and Iwasuke. Favourite stands would be Killer Queen, Purple Haze, Spice Girl, and White Album. And, if it wasn't already apparent, Part 5 happens to be at the top of my list.
I have! They're all branches off of part 5 [surprise, I know] but exist in a separate area with only brief appearances from the canon characters.

How did you find/get into Jojo's Bizarre Adventure?

I have an internet friend who was begging me to watch it back while part 5 was releasing episodes. He kept telling me I'd absolutely love it (he was right), but I told him the only thing that was stopping me was the fact that I had no streaming services. Then he gave me the link to a shady anime website and boom, new obsession.

Which part are you currently on? Did you start with the anime or manga?

Part 8! I was caught up until mangadex went down and now I'm a chapter behind, oops... I started by watching the anime, and then after part 5 I read everything else that hasn't been animated yet. Mostly because anime makes it easier for me to tell what's going on and connect with the characters better.

Do you have a favourite character? Favourite stand? Favourite part?

My favorite character changes often, but for a while I've been in love with Risotto. I love a lot of characters so it can be hard to choose sometimes lol. My favorite stands might be Killer Queen, Sticky Fingers, and Star Platinum. When it comes to picking a favorite part, that's a bit difficult because I like all of them for different reasons.

I'll put my opinions under a spoiler, not necessarily because there's actual spoilers but because this is going to be LONG and rambly.

Part 1 was a good introduction to the show and is a more tame way to introduce the bizarre aspects. Everything from there evolves in a natural-feeling way and eventually you don't even realize how weird the show gets. Part 2 is one of my favorites because I sorta connected with Joseph and I guess the part has sentimental value to me? Fucking love the music from that part too. Part 3 was painfully long but to be honest I enjoyed it. It was fun seeing them deal with a million stand users in a million ways, and then either befriending or beating the shit out of them. Same thing with part 4, but I liked part 4's villain a lot more. Kira is one of my absolute favorites and I love his whole personality and design. All of the p4 characters are fun and have interesting designs, and I liked the art style change in the anime. Part 5 is one of my favorites character design and story wise. A lot of it's really funny but it also just punches you right in the feelings :,( It's also one of the only parts where I liked the dub; Mista's english VA is PERFECT. I am really excited for the part 6 anime mostly because of Anasui. He sucks as a person but for some reason I love his character (and he's fun to draw). In p7 I adore the dynamic between Johnny and Gyro. Their interactions are hilarious and, again, a lot of the character designs in this part are so cool.

To anyone who hasn't read part 8, I really recommend that you do. It's weird as hell and kinda hilarious. My favorite p8 character is Norisuke IV and for some reason every time anything slightly bad happens to him I cry But yeah, it's long but I personally have enjoyed reading it and I really hope DP will continue animating all the parts because p8 would be so much fun to see animated.

Yes! I have a few JJBA ocs, my favorite being Hotdog Water because he's my weirdest one. Sadly, I haven't designed any of my ocs stands because I'm terrible at stand design and have no ideas

How did you find/get into JoJo's Bizarre Adventure? I got into JoJo in March 2022! I put it off for about two years because my friend just wouldn't shut up about it and I got kinda annoyed by it lol.

Which part are you currently on? Did you start with the anime or manga? I'm on part 6 right now, roughly a bit after where the first anime batch ended - I'm more of an anime watcher than a manga reader (unless it's a physical copy, idk it just hits different) so I'll probably wait for the second batch before completing the manga and going onto SBR ^^

Do you have a favourite character? Favourite stand? Favourite part? My favourite character is Rohan Kishibe (Though is closely followed by Melone thanks to my twitter friends lol) and my favourite stand is his Heaven's Door! Both of their designs are amazing and I have a soft spot for artistic and creative characters like Rohan. As for favourite part, it's part 4, which kinda shows my bias but I can't help it! My Favourite JoJo, JoBro, Stand, Villain and Soundtrack all come from part 4, it's quite funny lol.

Have you created any characters for the JJBA fandom? I do! The only character I have public is Rikano Hazamada - Toshikazu's gloomy sister - but her wiki isn't complete at all, only bare notes. The other characters I have planned are Menefer Avdol and a TBN part 5 OC! :))

Kira and Diavolo SCARE ME and out of all of the villains, I think i’ve had the strongest reaction to them (partially because they hurt my favorites 😤)

Aaaand now I’ll answer the questions cause why not (spoilered because i don’t want the comment to take up too much space on the thread)

How did you find/get into JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure? Pretty simple, I thought the memes were funny and the art style was unique, so I wanted to get in on it. At first I was watching it because I wanted to live through the memes and otherwise laugh at how weird it is sometimes, and uh- then I made the mistake of getting attached to the characters and now I’m invested in the story.

Which part are you currently on? Did you start with the anime or the manga? I’m on part 6, right where the anime stopped. I started with the anime and haven’t really read the manga, but I mean, I’ll read it if I feel like it. I tend to prefer watching the anime over reading the manga anyway because I just, really don’t like reading that much, I get distracted too easily.

Do you have a favorite character? Favorite stand? Favorite part? I have MULTIPLE favorite characters because how can I pick just one? Anyway my top three favorite characters would probably be Narancia, Caesar, and Polnareff. Also have a soft spot for Koichi, Rohan, and Ermes. If I had to pick a favorite stand, I’d probably go with Aerosmith because biased. I have two favorite parts, part 2 and part 5. Both of them made me cry (if you’ve seen them, I think you can figure out why.)

Have you created any characters for the JJBA fandom? Thought about it a little (mainly just thinking about what kind of stand I’d give them if any) but in the end, no. I don’t really get attached to fan characters like I do with regular ocs, the fan characters of mine that I’m attached to are only really because I find them nostalgic.

kira and diavolo...omg i don't hate kira, but i hate diavolo with a semi-burning passion? i understand his motive but it's poorly written and probably one of the more eh things about p5

i saw a few memes of it in late 2019 and watched phantom blood. then i forgot about it for a while, but i started back up on battle tendency in may of 2020. i binge watched the rest of the content during may / june of the covid era

i watched everything. for the manga i've only read parts 2 (I have physical copies at my house :D) 6, 7, and 8. hopefully i'll be able to read p9 when it comes out!

*comical laugh track plays* as you can see by my profile, my favorite characters are the pillarmen. my favorite one though is actually esidisi and not kars...poor guy he doesn't get enough love :( i uhhhh don't really have a favorite stand, and for favorite part? idk part two but it would be so much better if they focused on the pillarmen. i'm not saying that just because they're my favs either, it's just that every other villain gets this cool ass backstory that lasts an ep or so and all we get is like 9 minutes of flashbacks. but hey at least i get to make more headcanons about them

yeah and i show them often in chara discussion / forum games. the whole story is called her stone the sun and revolves around an aroace hamon user in ancient greece coming to terms with her identity. it's currently being revamped but yeah

How did you find/get into Jojo's Bizarre Adventure?
A very close friend of mine wouldn't shut up about it, so I sat down and watched part 1-3 in late 2019-early 2020. I picked up jojo in late summer of 2021and DIU just mad me crazy for JJBA

Started with the anime! Finished SBR, set to read Jojolions soon! ^^

I love Lucy Steel sm. She's a total badass and IMO I think she's one of the better written characters of jojo. I like all the stands but zipper dudes, Tusk, and Josukes stand are all stands I really loved <3 I loved SBR!

I finished part 7 about a year ago, and im currently in the middle of part 8. i started with the manga

My favorite characters currently are funny valentine, diego, yukako, koichi, lucy, gyro, kars, abd Joseph My favorite stand'll have to be uhh probably love deluxe, or killer queen.

My favorite part is either part 7 , or part 4, or part 2

ya i have a few, i hust havent posted them. alula used to be a jojo oc(distant cousin of speedwagon. i still have the old bio somewhere in my google docs) , but i had got a bit detached from the fandom so i changed her up a bit. most my jojo ocs are from parts 2-3

My friend had talked about it before so I was aware of it's existence. I saw part 6's anime being announced, and I got really interested in it. I told my friend I was interested, and she offered to watch it with me, so we did!

Which part are you currently on? Did you start with the anime or manga?
I finished all the parts, so ig the part I'm currently on is Jojolands when it releases (FEBRUARY 17TH WOOHOO!). I started with the anime, and then read part 7 and 8 in the manga!

Do you have a favourite character? Favourite stand? Favourite part?
I have so many favourites, but my main favourites and Polnareff and Avdol! I also love part 8 Josuke, Okuyasu, Diego, and Hot Pants! My favourite stand is Bohemian Rhapsody, and my favourite part is Stardust Crusaders!

I have plenty, you can find them in my JJBA folder! I am even working on a fan part right now :)

How did you find/get into Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

It's a long story, way back when I was younger I first saw a comment of someone suggesting that Nintendo should add JJBA characters to smash. Over time I got interested and for years I have been getting on the franchise (from every single part all the way to part 9 rn)

Which part are you currently on? Did you start with the anime or manga?

Currently I'm on Part 9. I mostly watched the anime for the first few parts but then I grew bored having to wait for the next Anime adaptation started reading the manga.

Do you have a favourite character? Favourite stand? Favourite part?

I apologize for any spoilers buy ,y favorite characters in the series are Polnareff, Bucciarati, Mista, Johnny, Gyro, Hot Pants, Pocoloco, Funny Valentine, Josuke (Gappy). Joshu, Jobin, the A. Phex brothers, Tamaki Damo, and Tooru (I LOVE THEM ALL EQUALLY).
My favorite stand in the franchise is Soft & Wet because the stand can be really creative when used (Soft & Wet is not only capable of combat, the stand's main ability is generating bubbles that steal things when they pop something. Not to mention the bubbles can damage people as a result of equivalent exchange.) As a result, my favorite part in general is Part 8.

Have you created any characters for the JJBA fandom?

No, I'm not really sure if I have the interest of making any JJBA content since I prefer making original stuff. But I have considered designing a couple of stands as I do take influence of Araki's modern art style (these stands in question would look mechanical because of that).

Memes, yt videos, one day I decided to watch the first part. I watched a few episodes and I dropped, now months later my best friend got into JoJo and she would tell me how good it is and such. I decided to watch it again, after more episodes I got hooked

I finished Stone Ocean the anime and now I'm waiting for either the anime for the next part or for an English translation for the manga
