Yeah, it's definitely the same here... while I wouldn't say the books are necessarily hidden away-in the local Chapters store here, it's a bookstore, they've got the whole series up- I'm frankly quite shocked that it isn't more popular. The dialogue and the relationships between characters?? A+ stuff!! I love Skulduggery and Valkyrie's dynamic- it's my favourite thing in the whole world. ; __ ;! They're so good together.
And precisely!! His personality is amazing LMAO. I started reading the book in high school myself- but I was like 12, same age as Valkyrie when it all started for her, and I had a small crush on him, HAH.
I definitely agree with you on how it was cool seeing Val age and mature. It's like growing up with a friend- she's kinda aging in real time too!! Was 12 when I started with her, and I'm about 23 (turning 24) now, same age as her still.

I'm still so sad about Ghastly, also. URGH. He was a cinnamon bun!! But alas, there's something about writers where they have some weird sadistic streak to 'me. >| And I'm not a fully fledged writer, but I do awful things to my own characters too. > _ >;; Oops... so as sad as I am about what he's done to the babs, it's like "ah a kindred soul hello"

The first book is great- though I can definitely see where your confusion would be, haha. ;;;; I read the series as it was written, but sometimes when I go back to reread it, I'm like "what". !!! If you ever do, though, that'd be great!! Honestly, this series is golden. I love it so much. If you ever end up finding yourself looking back into it though...
