Hi!

Since the original Unpopular Opinion Thread is locked (it turned into a shit-show reeeaaal fast) , I've gotten permission to remake it.

I've decided to use the original rules for the thread since those were gucci

Edit: I didn't mean to post ic aaaaaaaa

Spoilers: Rules

- Don't be very rude or snarky to others. Remember, everyone has their own personal opinions.

- Disagreeing with someone's opinion is allowed, as long as it's not rude.

- Yo don't namedrop people, even if they're not on this site.

- To avoid causing a mess, refrain from starting an argument at all times!

- If there's something wrong going on in this thread, or if it's going out-of-hand, please PM me so that I can take care of it!

- Vaguing someone is prohibited, and it's connected to the third rule.

- Please do not post more than twice per page, so that it won't cause too much of a mess.

- It's okay if you vent, don't go too all-out on it. This is not the Vent Board.

- Also, please try not to turn this thread into a saltfest.

- Please, no opinions focused on racism, LGBT, politics, religion and the like. These will cause a massive flamewar. Controversial opinions are also not allowed unless taken lightly.

- Don't say stuff like "I don't like X" or "What? I love X!" in a way that's aggressive. This is meant to be a nice thread about sharing your unpopular opinions, not countering someone else's opinion.

-If it's something nsfw, use a spoiler box, or blackout the text  like this

- Don't call this thread out as a "bad idea." If you don't like this thread, please do not post here.

-Failure to comply with these rules will result in a warning, or ban depending on how severely you broke the rules.

Ey yo,  if you see someone breaking the rules, pm me. I love it when ppl do this because I'm a blind bih.

i love superhero related things but tbh, yeah, im not a big fan of a lot of the recent stuff. not to be a hipster but you'll pretty much almost exclusively chilling in the 03-09 era bc thats when some of my fav shows aired. (the original teen titans cartoons, xmen evolution, tmnt 2003 even if theyre technically not super super heroes in the conventional sense, etc).

i think that the unpopular thing here is that the fandoms are less popular than they used to be - which is understandable. as time goes on we'll have less people becoming fans and being exposed to the shows as easily as it used to be when they were still current.

ive also noticed that the teen titans remake, horrible and objectable as it may be, is doing surprisingly well. same for the titans live action, though ive heard better reviews in general from the live action. the remake is still absolutely horrid though so idk, i dont rly get it. but thats prolly just me

Art style theft doesn’t exist / closed species are kind of stupid

tobey maguire was the best spiderman.

agree with what the post above's saying on pokemon. I lowkey feel like getting rid of the sprites also got rid of the soul, in a sense. the graphics and passion went down after BW2 imho

And I can't be the only one who doesn't like the enemies to lovers trope in most contexts, right? I'm fine with rivals or begrudging allies. But in so many books and shows, the intended couple consists of two people who initially despise each other, or consists of one person actively bullying or trying to make the other's life miserable. And if not that, then said pair is often the most popular ship in whatever fandom we're talking about. Out of respect for the rules I'm not naming specific examples of what I mean but there's tons of them. My tl;dr here is I can get invested into the stories of enemies with complex feelings about each other, but if they're actively trying to kill each other or despise each other I'm just not going to see that in a romantic light like ever

lion king remake wasn't bad. yes it was lacking facial expressions but that's about it. y'all just salty Disney is remaking everything

Thinking back yeah I gotta agree on the pokemon opinions. Never really felt like going back to any of the 3D ones(well not that I even could with my 3DS' battery going bad). Though let's be real, despite the direction of the games, the pokemon designs are still mostly solid and radical. So I plan to just enjoy the cool mon designs from here on out only. Also with the price increase and more cut features, yeah not like I could really afford the games even if I wanted to.

Also the best spiderman was the 1978 tokusatsu Spiderman which I gotta see if anyone has subbed it or not sometime...

Disney live action get a lot of hate usually so...

Live action Aladdin's Jasmine >>>>> Animated Aladdin's Jasmine

Btw, not to cut the topic but anything negative about Pokemon SWSH is nowhere unpopular IMO...? The only unpopular opinion is people who are happy with the game. I miss when people are excited about SWSH. That is my opinion.

amino is a cesspool of an app and i don’t understand why so many people still use it adopt-wise

Warning: I'm in a mood where I'm feeling really passionate about stating my opinions so this is super forward and brutally honest, I truly apologize ; ;

1. Furbies are actually... really ugly?? I don't understand the hype over them.

2. Stranger Things is really overrated. I've mentioned it before that I just.. don't get the hype over the show I guess? I actually gave it a chance and watched more episodes than I normally do for a show before deciding whether or not I like it but.. it really seems like any other show to me. I'm not sure what about it stands out for it to get the following it has.

3. The Princess Bride is.. an awful movie. I am so sorry. But like.. It's at a certain point where I can't tell if it's supposed to be a comedy or if it's supposed to be taken seriously and that's not a good thing.

The dialogue is wierd, the storytelling is fast-paced and messy, AND (here's my main point: ) I literally can't feel any interest or emotion towards the movie if the main characters get no relationship development.. I get that it's an old-er movie and it might be a childhood favorite, but it's really not something I'd watch over and over again like most people do. Honestly, I'd really appreciate if someone could explain it to me. Like, I'm not kidding, I actually would really love to hear someone's explanation of this movie and why people like it! :')

Iceburg slime is actually really good and people just can't appreciate crunchy sounds :')

cinnamon_bun_puff
