♦ Unpopular Opinion Thread ♦

Promised myself I wouldn’t come back to this thread because I’m way too passionate about opinions but I’d honestly just like to express my extreme dislike for the phrase “and I oop”. Like, I’m not normally bothered by the current meme trends and whatever but for some reason that whole “and I oop” thing really gets on my nerves?

It sounds so wrong to my ears.. like.. “and I oop”? That’s not even correct in a sentence and why is it the response for something someone does that’s “surprising” or something? This might just be the English critic in me speaking but why is it cool and “hip” to say something so horribly grammarly incorrect? Also people have started saying “sksksks” out loud and I didn’t even know that was possible? (I can’t even read “sksksks” in my head)

(Did I just.. write a rant about a meme phrase? I guess I did akjsghkj)

TLDR: “and I oop” is extremely annoying and overused.

What's worse is that in the video it came from, it's more of "and I o-" with a very, very faint p to me. The way I read it is similar to "opt" in "opt-out". I hate it so much. I also really dislike vsco girls just because Urban Dictionary describes them as "the Tumblr girls of 2019". Good warning sign for me personally to stay away. (My experiences with those kinds of people, the worst of the stereotype (the only ones I've interacted and seen), has been awful so far. I just don't trust people like that easily)

I'm also don't like the "oh worm" stuff for the same reason. Not only is it Tumblr-y to me, but it also sounds like it too. Like, so much so...

The concept of a 'safe space' or a 'safe bubble', when it comes to adults specifically, is very weird to me. Or, more accurately, the concept of blocking someone for having a differing opinion, is weird to me. When it comes to someone actively harassing you, then yeah, go ahead. But imagine hitting the block button because someone didn't like something that went against your beliefs.

^ Agreed with Daiyuna, people these days are such wusses thanks to the block button and frankly I would almost be glad if there was no block button.

Having been blocked by about five people on here for them disagreeing with my opinions.. I agree :') It's kinda weird and unhealthy.

Even though I have blocked people in the past with some of the reason being differing opinions (it's never the full reason, however; just something that can probably influence a block), I agree. People shouldn't be going about, blocking everyone over some opinions. That's...not a good idea, to say the least. Another thing, public safe spaces on the internet are not too good of an idea to me for.

why tf are we on the topic of policing blocks again?? its not an unpopular opinion to think people are unreasonable or weak for using the button to make their online experience comfortable. youre not entitled to interaction with anybody, so if youre blocked for something as stupid as having an anime pfp and the blocker h8s anime or something just suck it up. its the internet, its not that big of a deal. 

imo people are entitled to feeling safe, and if something as petty as a block helps them feel better then so be it. the average internet user does not log on to have their beliefs or opinions constantly challenged, even if its not direct. if somebody comments "i think black people are inferior to white people" as a black person id probably block them for that shitty opinion even if they didnt directly say it to me, but wait, oh no!! thatd make me a sensitive little snowflake who cant handle different opinons!!1!1

 if getting blocked because of your opinions is a common occurrence then maybe youre not a very pleasant person or youre too aggressive in your presenting of it
