"Edgy backstory" (Aka family ded, haves rogue blood, and also ALL THE UNIVERSE hates [insertnamehere]) is HEKING BORING and doesn't makes your Character more Interesting.

Since the original Unpopular Opinion Thread is locked (it turned into a shit-show reeeaaal fast) , I've gotten permission to remake it.
I've decided to use the original rules for the thread since those were gucci

Agreeing with the 'not all villains have to be redeemed' thing. I think people believe it's boring/cheap to just make villains evil and not have some sort of 'but they're actually a good person deep down' thing going on.
It's fine to have a villain who's evil just for the sake of being evil, and doesn't get redeemed.

Some characters (see: Sol from the Warrior Cats universe, Zonda from Azure Striker Gunvolt 2) just plain deserve to pay, and when they do pay, it is delicious.
People who do the "all villains get redeemed" generally don't have antihero-type characters as well, if you ARE gonna treat the villains like heroes then treat the heroes like villains once or twice too.
having a new nintendo direct is good- having the main headliner be FE isn't. im so tired of that series being advertised EVERYWHERE.
I'm actually super happy to see Fire Emblem coming up on the Nintendo Direct! I've been waiting for new information on Three Houses for a good while now. I definitely hope they get rid of the baby feature, but not at the expense of an MU! MUs make the story feel so much more personal imo.
Unpopular opinion (Not directed at anyone, but): If you're sick of a specific series being overadvertised, then maybe at least avoid it rather than complain about it? This is the media, and if a series gets popular, they get more attention in advertising. That's how things go. Also, I really don't like how people treat Fire Emblem like the Fairy Tail/Sword Art Online of Nintendo nowadays, with the aforementioned anime also being treated like crap. It just sounds really petty tbh?
(Kinda offtopic, but I'm kinda looking forward to FE Three Houses though, but I'm not interested in buying it due to personal reasons and also because I'm more interested in an FE6 remake, despite not having played it yet.)
(^I'm excited for more FE news too! I'm not into heroes so there hasn't any FE content for me in a while lol)
Unrelated: although hypmic music is kinda hit or miss (the new songs sound kinda meh from the previews) I still really like the project as a whole and I'm excited for the upcoming game/figures/etc.
idk if this is a real unpopular opinion but here goes anyways. if im venting to you (like, asking you for help help, this is null and void if im just throwing the vent at you bc u said it was cool if i yelled for a bit) about something serious or something i’m really upset about and all you say is “mood” “same” “oh worm” “yikes” i will be upset no i dont care if its like a way of saying ur paying attention it just sounds like you plain don’t care.

Another game related opinion: If a remake is being made of any sort of game, I think it's more interesting if the remake works features from newer games into the old game. ie: FE: Echoes Shadows of Valentia could've added a wider variety of classes so there's less repeats of classes (BUT kept the option of only using the original classes for those who enjoy that.) A remake should be more than updated graphics imo. ;;w;;/
Also there's absolutely nothing wrong with playing a game on easy/beginner/casual/whatever! If you're playing and enjoying the game, that's all that matters!
The Jugdral saga of Fire Emblem is underrepresented and needs more love and should 100% be the next re-release if they're still doing those.

I don't like playing "shooter games" aka stuff like Fornite, Call of Duty, Overwatch, Halo, GTA, etc. (excluding Splatoon2 and Splatoon)
Other than the fact that i'm really bad at these types of games, they just aren't enjoyable for me. The only time I'll ever play a shooter game is when i'm at a friends house and they let me try it out (I always suck lol)
