heya!! so...

RPG Maker games!!! *Wolf RPG Editor (e.g. Lieat series) counts too

what're your fav(s)?

i definitely like a ton of them, but recently i looked into Witch's Heart (not the witch's house,, but that one's cool too, i just saw the mv's "extra mode" with adjusted puzzles) and that was rly cool!!

Rev0n

I really like Hero and Daughter + :)

ClinicalCheeze

Kana :D

ah ib is precious for sure!! and dreaming mary is made in vx ace so you're on point c:

oh yikes bugs! other than that alice mare's more of my sibling's preference than mine, but its rly cute haha(just as wagbs is cute)

ClinicalCheeze

Revontulet1982 i never checked that, tho i saw it on steam!  :o sounds interesting..

Swissy

Oneshot (it's obvious lmao), Lisa The Painful and Lisa The Joyful! They are both hella underrated so pls check em out if y'all have the time. Though be wary, The Lisa series deals with some triggering and serious theme

I love Oneshot's story and character design. It's hella cute yet there's a sad melancholic like feeling when you play it. The 4th wall breaking mechanics is engagging too!!

Lisa though, It's like the Mother series but with father and berserk mixed into it. The game mechanics adds up to the story and the atmosphere we are playing. THE MUSIC IS HELLA GOOD TOO

Mochi

Kana i feel you on the alice mare bit super hard. only my opinion isnt because of a glitch, but i could not for the life of me complete alice mare because i got stuck on one of the puzzles and just sort of quit OTL. also id gahh its so good, gosh i love it.

witch's house destroyed me T-T. angels of death is my current fandom soidhaf the anime adaption was SO good (♥ω♥人). dreaming mary gosh that game made me so sad, i like uri's game such as the crooked man, but i wish there was more diversity in it. like you get to play as a female in sandman but idk. yume nikki, i never actually played it because ill just get sad RIP. and OFF though i didnt complete that either because i got stuck also mogeko castle is really good to.

i played mermaid swamp which was good, very freaky though. and i played bevels painting but it scared me so much i couldnt continue, bless vgperson.

honestly im such a rpgmaker addict that i could go on

idk if corpse party would me considered rpgmaker, because the orignal game was made on rpgmaker but then it got an upgrade. i still recommend it but uh, its very gorey and well its rated m for a reason. (•̥́_•' )and it does have some very uncomfy moments regarding some stuff that happens, so be warned.

oh and blank dream BLESS for having some girl x girl stuff.

circlejourney

Toss up between OFF and To The Moon! Both are sublime and gripping, have so much depth to them, and have influenced me in different ways. These are actually two of my favourite video games of all time, full stop.

ClinicalCheeze

Swissy oh oneshot!!! my sibling loves that!!(the character design n art style plays a large part, but also partly due to cave story vibes) i do think it's a very cool experience myself ;u; too much sadness for how cute everyone is................

as for lisa, we know theyre great but i guess its vibe & content is not rly for everyone! i might try a let's play though, intrigued b/c i love some good music :>

Mochi ikr... oo angels of death/slaughter (idk "official" localization). that was rly good!! i should check out the anime sometime :eyes emoji:

uri's games i have only watched a let's play of crooked man and very small beginning of the sandman! it's true that the "known" rm games could use more diversity in general xD especially if it's something like OFF, now -that- was something........

also agree that vgperson has rly showed us a lot of games aaa

coprse party wasnt for me but blank dream sounds cute? ill look at it! x>

circlejourney oh yea!!! to the moon!! it was a rly nice cinematic experience ;v; have you seen A Bird Journey (was that the name?) yet? i tried dabbling in rmvxa for fun, and i can barely comprehend the eventing power to make that game xD

and yeah OFF was rly unique even now for rpg maker games! i imagine if a game with both as inspirations were made, itd be very interesting.........

Caine

STAR STALING PRINCE!!! Closely followed by Ib and The Witch's House, but those are super known as they're one of the biggest classics. I also super adore End Roll and might actually consider it my second favourite game right after SSP

EDIT // God how could I not mention Yume Nikki and .flow?? They're both amazing and I do like Yume 2kki too but it's just... not as fun for me as the other two

circlejourney

ClinicalCheeze A Bird Story? I haven't checked it, but I should! I loved To The Moon so I have to check out any games associated with it on principle. OFF is very unique! I thought its influence on Undertale was quite clear, ahaha.

arodude

I liked Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden, it was originally made on rpgmaker but then they used Game Maker.... I also liked Underworld Capital Incident and Ib.

Kogami

oh my god......it's been a while since I played one I grew out of the hype fast too because I'm bad at horror games jhdgs and only aware of the non-horror ones after that tfw but I liked Misao!! I should try the remake ver someday... I admit that I don't like most of the characters but the friendship between the two main girls is very ;_; Plus it's the only game that my sister often replays so this and Ib are the only ones I can strongly remember the story lol....

I know Ib is quite uhh overly well-received but it's the least creepiest game for me imo and the endings are just....man. I cried.

I didn't play The Crooked Man myself (watched an LP of it) but I also really liked the message the game delivered....which I won't spoil but it hits hard that the protagonist may have failed a lot in his life but he still stayed strong regardless ;_;

Mochi

yeah i watched it on crunchyroll, theres a few minor changes but other than that is pretty close to the game. seriously, i love rpgmaker games but it wouldn’t kill game makers to be a little more open minded about their characters >.> man off was super trippy lol, i liked the cat a lot though lol

seriously vgperson is the person who got me into rpgmaker games XD

u should def play it! But be warned, its scary and falls into the horror genre. theres also very sensitive topics explored in there.

Pepperly

Haven't played many but I find Off, To the Moon, and the Space Funeral series all interesting. I've been playing Lisa and Skyborn on and off for ... a couple years. Lisa is Lisa, but Skyborn is Incredibly RPGMaker in every way shape and form and it's kinda relaxing in the way it stays close to its roots.

ClinicalCheeze

Caine oooo oh man i forgot about star stealing prince, but!! it was a sweet little game for sure! (n i read the continuation novels too) ofc i was hoping more people talk about games i haven't seen, as much as the classics are good :'D my sibling loves end roll! id say it was certainly interesting myself(they would choose farethere city first tho due to the ~sad vibes balance~)

not as much my thing but yume nikki sure has been a unique style of rm games huh :>

arodude hmm i havent heard of those! (tbh i only rly discovered games from lets players like MANLYBADASSHERO, so,,) also hey! my sib mentioned underworld capital incident, its a game i considered strangely popular in japan haha. its got its fancy website n merch n everything......... xD

Kogami tbh i never... rly played any games, i just prefer watching/reading things :'D oh misao.. yea i had a friend told me the morals were ?? but hey, best girl friends xDD

yea ib!! i think it's got fame for good reason, other than its early debut. ALSO i saw through the crooked man so i know what you mean!!

Pepperly space funeral? now thats not a name im familiar with //checks out // also ohhey skyborn! i kinda have that but never rly played it,, haha. i guess you mean the whole part about looking just like the rtp(default graphic assets), but a good game's good tbh!
