The appeal of anthros vs ferals vs humanoids

Some people have strictly humanoid ocs. Some people have strictly anthro ocs. Some people have strictly feral ocs.

We all have a preferance, even if it's just slightly so.

What is yours? What do you find appealing about your choice? Why did you first "chose" this? I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions!

I've had humanoid ocs as long as i've had ocs!

I've always wanted to enjoy having anthro characters with the same passion I have for my humanoid ocs, but I just can't stop viewing them as anything more than just characters without a story made to look nice? I always feel like I don't even "use" humanoids with like cat ears and tails, and I almost never feel inspired to design them. It wasn't until I dated a furry as a teen that I even drew one honestly, and while I didn't fully understand the appeal I did enjoy being able to make him happy with my art. These days I still really love drawing anthros for comms, trades, and such, and I enjoy looking at anthro art, but I still just can't get behind making them or rping them myself :( have never seen the appeal in ferals personally, but I still admire those who draw them well!

I'm mainly a mix, as you can tell from my mains folder. I tend to prefer ferals and anthros however, since I just can connect with them better and it seems to be easier to create stories around them. Mostly, the humanoids I connect to have to be "unrealistic" as in having wings, or horns.I just find humanoids kinda boring???

I mainly use anthros and humanoids. I find I have a much easier time coming up with a story for these sorts in the long run because it's been years upon years since I really roleplayed any ferals. Since that's what for the most part drives my characters and their creation, I fell out of the need of having a bunch of feral, though I have a few lurking here and there.

Though now since the friends I have now prefer humanoid, I am slowly getting more of these because we like to ban together and craft a world and the ocs in it. <3 I hope a non-artist input was okay. ^^;;
