6/11/19: big description edit

This is the thread for general pet peeves. I don't mean character ones or fandom pet peeves, I mean random, not specific to anything pet peeves.

Rules

1. Please don't name anybody.

2. If anybody starts to argue, take it to profile comments or PMs.

3. Black out any sensitive content.

Kogami

Eating noises are bad but the worst of the worst are goddam people making ~ASMR~ or sensual noises when eating or sucking on a candy. You're not sexy, you're disgusting. Thanks.

There are some artists (not gonna say any names) on DA that say that they won't respond to people's comments or notes because they're busy

It's kinda stupid, especially when you try to get their attention for something important, or when you just want to ask if they can critique something you made

lophiusdragon

the fact that the name javascript sounds similar to java but both languages are completely different from each other

FrankensteinLabs

when ppl get pissy i dont reply to comments on my cosplay accounts and throw a fit over it

dude.

i have hundreds of comments on this image

i do not have the time to look through them all, im busy making more content for yall

respect that

glizzrybear

when i buy smth that has the stick on barcode label thingy, and when i try to rip it off it doesnt rip off cleanly >:0!!!!!!!

AlleycatIrony

everyone acting so personally offended when i don't wanna do art as a career? i've been getting pressured to do it multiple times a week FOR MY WHOLE LIFE

what part of 'it's a hobby and i don't want to do it as a job, my art is v personal and i don't wanna share/sell it' can't ppl understand?

'what a waste' yeah ok whatever

Stjerneskud

Something toyhouse related:

Making a trading or "Looking for" post and explicitly stating what you do and what you don't want the design to have.

And for some reason many just dump their characters into the comments that have nothing to do with the things I stated at all??

For example: "I don't want feral characters please"

Person: *links their TH that only has feral designs*

I mean... They're going to get a No from me anyway...

AlleycatIrony

when a person commissioning me says they want smthn changed bc it looks off or w/e and i'm like 'cool just tell me what u want X to look like and i'll change it no problem' and they go 'thanks' like no pls tell me what u want done communication is key i have no clue how u want this to look if u don't tell me 😭

thankfully it doesn't happen too often tho

I think one of my biggest pet peeves is the recent trend of pet  owners referring to themselves as the "mommies" or "daddies" of their pets. Like, I get it, the pet is like a child to you but it's an animal, please don't do that, it sounds weird.

BIG agree right here. It just makes me feel super uncomfortable.

I hate when people call my ability to create art a talent.  No its not, its a skill.  I didn't just pick up a pencil and start drawing good.  I know they are complimenting me and I know that isn't what they mean but it still just rubs me the wrong way.

Kogami

^Oh big mood to this. The other day I had to reply something similar to someone complaining "I wish I'm good at drawing but I can't draw" and.....bruh.......

I've mentioned this multiple times already but in general I just dislike "compliments" that just say like "at least you can draw" like it sounds like you're not acknowledging my efforts and rubs me the impression of  "I don't think you've improved but at least you can draw when a lot of people can't so it doesn't matter lol" :') I get that it may be not their intention but there's,,, better ways,,, to convince someone in art,
