Welcome to Normal, West Virginia! A small town, easily missable, known mainly for the excellent local eateries and friendly, accepting demeanor of its citizens. Folks in Normal are very hospitable- and a lot more supportive of people's personal predilections than you'd normally find around that area.
In fact, Normal's a lot more accepting of other, less personal details- the town is home to all sorts of supernatural creatures, where they can live openly as what they are without pitchforks and torches leveled at them for the crime of existing. The town has a city-wide glamour over it- any newcomers or tourist simply stopping by are blind to the residents' inhuman features.
The town also plays host to the Wondrous Conservatory, a large castle and communal home/workspace for Mad Scientists of all sorts so they can hone their god-defying craft in relative peace.
If you like cryptids and the general aesthetic of things like Gravity Falls/TAZ Amnesty, this is the group for you!

Basically the concept was he was a good friend of McGucket, and at one point during a failed mad science experiment of his, he gained an ability to talk to animals, and to be able to hear them.
