Hello! This is an interest check for a new cyberpunk/dystopian 18+ rp group called "The Waste".
The Waste is set in a universe where mortals and Celestials alike once coexisted. After the rise of The Shepherd, who promised humanity an unbelievably utopic existence, the removal of the Celestials became a necessary evil in order to obtain paradise. Though many were quite innocent, anyone wielding any kind of "illegal" powers were rounded up and shipped off to an entire prison planet well away from home. This prison earned the nickname "The Waste" by its inhabitants for its abundance of decay and uninhabitable terrain.
Players will begin in the starting city of Rust, a holding city on The Waste located in the remains of an old, technologically advanced city dug out of a ravine. Most people are moved from this city at some point by the prison guards, but some are permanent residents for various unknown reasons.
It's clear that something is quite wrong about the way the world works nowadays, but little can be done to change it. Or can it? There are many obstacles in the way, and even if you manage to escape The Waste, the oppressive regime of The Shepherd is pervasive even in everyday society. Will you be able to escape and make a difference?
Currently, the group is still undergoing construction, as the mods wish to provide a very well-structured and overall well-rounded environment for story-telling and roleplay. The group is currently open and accepting members. For the time being, we will maintain a new member cap of 15 to make it easier for the group to get on its feet. Eventually, if all goes well, it will be open for more people to join. If you're interested in joining The Waste please leave a comment so we can send you an invite! We will stop sending out invites and temporarily close join requests once we hit our member cap, but we will reopen the group to new members later on, so please keep tabs on the group if you're interested after the cap has been reached.
