I just got one that I traded art for that didn't come with much story or many pictures. I'm not sure how people usually go about it, but she seems to have some ideas. Do you guys usually build the character of your adoptable? Look for ones that come with a lead into more development? Look at the picture and then draw them some and see what it naturally does? Try to shape it into something?

The one I just got that isn't one of my own creations I started scribbling and she took a pose with a gigantic sword, so that's about all I have for her at the moment. I kind of want to see what emerges from drawing her naturally, instead of assigning a personality or traits.

I usually answer oc-prompts! These questions help me develop ideas and helps me leads at least an idea for the character! Tumblr has a lot good oc-prompts. I also pick one main trait of their character and developed it with a twist

Ex: A scary boy.

- Seems scary but what happens if he's a sweetie!

That's how I usually do things and I hope it helps you <3!!

Haha I just realized I posted this in the wrong forum XD Seems like what I do. Ah well. Apologies mods.

Drawing them to see what they're doing is pretty fun, for sure. I swear it's a little like getting a mystery and then you draw to see what they are and who they are. Fun stuff.

The oc prompts are cool. I've seen them so many times I'm less into doing that anymore. Or I suppose, the usual ones? The writing prompts on reddit, if the character picks them, they seem to be a good way to bring out who they are.
