Society has advanced, but the Earth is dying. The environment and its animals wither away under the might of unfettered human development, and yet humans continue to work for wealth, for furthering technology, for more and more progression...
Of-the-Fittest is a discord-based rp group revolving around a genetic testing facility where various experiments are run on human and animal subjects, unchecked by laws or regulations. It will likely contain gore, homicide, and other dark themes. Disclaimer though, I'm not actually the founder of the group, nor a mod - I'm posting because our mighty leader does not actually have Toyhou.se :3
You can choose from various roles:
- Prisoner. One of the subjects at the facility. Some have been mutated beyond recognition as a human.
- Volunteer. Willing became subjects for experimentation. There are people like that out there?!
- Researcher. Self-evident what they do; could range from drug testing to biotech to cutting stuff up.
- Overseer. Watch over and manage the prisoners. Kind of like baby sitting on a mass scale.
- Resident. A regular citizen just living their life. Maybe for now??
- Escapee. Prisoner who somehow managed to escape the facility. Could be in a group or on their own.
- Hunter. Go out to recapture escaped prisoners. Can't lose those precious assets.
- Police. Like the above but tend to stay at certain stations or posts. Instead of running after the target, wait for them to come to you ayy

You can find more information and ask any questions on the discord server! I believe they are also looking for some mods to help oversee the server, so if you're interested feel free to ask about that. They are also planning to start holding some sessions around mid-June (though there have been pre-sessions going on).
UPDATE: mods calling for character profiles to be posted/handed so they can start on the story session soon! They are in particular looking for more characters for volunteer, resident and escapee roles :3 FYI you don't need to provide a visual reference for your character; you can put a physical description instead if you prefer
UPDATE2 (18/06): Sessions started! Second session will be this weekend~ All roles are open for new characters (except not sure about volunteer though)!

darkrai hewwoo no worries, ask away :3 There's 15 members in the server, about 9 have put in character profiles and around 4-5 are currently usually active in chat at the moment while others pop in here and there ahah So pretty small, I think? I don't believe the mods have set a date, though I know they said they wanted to start the story around mid-June, so pretty soon
They actually put an announcement asking to have profiles posted by Saturday so they can get stuff started, which I know is not that much time, but if you join late they might just be ok if you make something up late? But yeah if you want to ask other things, feel free to let me know and I can ask in-server for you if you want ahah

Ooo it seem super interesting, and I’m always down for dark themes akakksskksks xD I’m kinda having trouble thinking of a character tho- and I allowed to hang around the group and observe until churn up something decent?

yeah you can join just to lurk/watch/hang if you want! You can see other people's characters profiles there too, so maybe that could help give some inspiration/ideas :3 Mod currently has submissions for profiles closed, but said they would open again after the first session~

Apothecary ooh yeah join if you like! I think if you let the mod know you want to read the rps they can give you permission to see the channels
Just heads up though I think the admins might do some "periodic pruning" every now and then, meaning they might remove people who seem inactive from the channel ahah

they might open up that role again once the other roles get filled in a bit more since they have a number of researchers already >o>
SilvaRainshow if you mean not being a native English speaker, I think you should be fine if you can just understand what's happening in the rp and write comfortably too, since the rps will be in writing obvs ahah
This is just my thought, but if you ask me, I think you could manage if you're a first time group rper! You're free to ask questions if you aren't sure what you're doing (I don't know what I'm doing sometimes myself rip) or just observe to see what others do (also derpy me is there to help so there's that too) :3 I don't get the impression that the rp sessions are gonna be anything complicated so all good
I think i could manage that haha My English isn´t perfect so i was worried it might bother some people, i once tried to join a group but they declined and told me it would annoy the heck out of them, childish in my opinion but whatever
I´d love to make a Overseer Chara, is there still a place open for this role or should i take another? (I want to design and draw my chara so i´d have to know and i need some time^^)

So I asked and it seems like for now they have overseer roles closed since they currently have enough characters to cover all the sectors
I don't know when they might open that role up again, but I believe the other roles are open since they don't have as many characters there yet (hunter and researchers are actually current locked too at the moment, but I think they might open that up again after next session) Basically they're just trying to balance things out at the moment XD But you're welcome to make multiple characters in different roles
Also no one has done this yet, but I think you could also try making resident/civilian who works at the facility as a guard or something if you really wanted to, because apparently residents/civilians can work at the facility which I didn't know ahah
But yeah, no worries, you're not bothering at all! this is kinda fun, I feel like I'm trying to sell you some insurance policy or something ahah
I can tell you, if you´d sell the insurance, i´d 10/10 buy immediatly xD
I have a great idea for a volunteer, so i might take one of this role *^* Hope my idea is possible and will be accepted

We don't have many volunteers so far so that sounds good! You can join the discord server and DM your bio/profile to the mod (called Wolf Mom), and they can check over if for you/say if you need to add in stuff etc And you can also get your character an ID number (if they are a volunteer)
Once everything is fine, then you just post your profile into the appropriate channel (it might make more sense once you see the channels ahah)
But yeah, if you have any questions about character creation or if you're not sure what to do, you can ask them on the server too :3 No worries, there is no stupid question~ I'm the oracle of answers wooo
