hello! my name is chrys, and i'm looking to get back into roleplaying! this might be kind of a shot in the dark but i figured it's better to throw this out here than not do anything lol
a little about me:
- i'm a married 27-year-old nonbinary person (she/her or he/him either is fine!). i'm in the US Eastern Timezone (UTC -5:00 / -4:00), currently under DST.
- i'm an artist and a writer. i also like jewelry design/metalworking and i just got into cross-stitch. i work from home as a transcriptionist.
- i tend to be a little busier on the weekends, but it also depends on my current workload. i try to reply at least once a day, but it could be more or less frequent depending on what i've got going on.
- my #1 main interest is D&D, particularly the Forgotten Realms setting. 5e is my fav but i learned on 3.5 so it's special to me.
- similarly, i also like most other fantasy stuff, along with adventure and some sci-fi.
and a little about my RP prefs:
- being that i'm 27, i'd prefer partners that are closer in age to me (like 21+), but i have to say no to anyone under 18, i'm sorry!
- i really enjoy group stuff, but i've decided to branch out a little and do some 1x1! i've usually only done 1x1 with close friends in the past but i'm feeling adventurous!
- although i am open to potential romance and/or smut, i am not really a big shipper; i will gladly engage in all of that if it happens to develop naturally during the course of an RP, and when this does happen i enjoy it very very much! i just usually don't go into these things looking for it specifically (please read the relevant sections in my comfort meme for more detail about this!)
- if we do end up shipping, please be aware that i generally don't have "canon" ships for my characters, since i actively play them in D&D. the things that happen in-game are their "alpha timeline," so to speak. unless things happen in them that become very important for the character, anything we RP will be considered an alternate timeline/AU for them.
- i'd really prefer to roleplay D&D-based stuff, and the setting i use is the Forgotten Realms. i'd REALLY like to find people who want to do things based in the Realms, and who are also really into the lore. i'm kinda crazy about the Realms, lmao. if it's D&D, for me, it kind of has to be the Realms and i more or less wanna drown in lore. Realms-based RP is my top priority here!
- however if you want to do something more general fantasy, i'd possibly be willing to sort of AU my characters into a different sort of fantasy universe or something as long as we could discuss it at length first! (again, more details in rp comfort meme)
- google docs is overall preferred for me! i like groups so forums are also good, and i'll also do PMs here gladly. i'm very private with my discord so i don't usually give it out, but i could be convinced to RP there.

- the normal stuff that should go without saying (i.e. no pedophilia... like. obvious gross stuff like that)
- in the event that the RP ends up something NSFW i have some material i'm really uncomfortable with so we'd just need to talk about it if it comes up!
and i'll leave you with a writing sample (it's not an RP sample since its been years; just a snippet from a larger piece i recently wrote! you can find more of my fiction writing in my library if you'd like more examples!)
The glint of the rapier in the purple glow of the hallway light, reflecting back at him from the ornate hanging mirror before him, served only to make him feel all the more that he looked like a fool. He could check his form all he liked; he knew he just didn't have the same grace or skill as either of his elder sisters, and likely never would. If there was something to be said for dedication, he supposed he might deserve those accolades – if only there were anything to show for it. He watched the footwork of the figure in the mirror very closely – perhaps too closely, as he soon found himself tripping on his own feet. He stopped for a moment, breathing heavy, and looked himself in the eye. The figure on the other side seemed to be judging him just as harshly and feeling just as tired and defeated, shirt buttons having come undone and hair falling loose from the looping bundle it was tied into. He sheathed the blade with a heavy sigh and set to tucking it back into place.
“I've seen more skill in the footwork of an otyugh,” called a voice from across the hall and behind him, causing him to startle. He sharply turned, his form tense and stiff. From deeper in the hall came the commanding footsteps of the Eldergirl of House Baenath, her gold-and-silver eyes glinting with a sneering joy over the shining black scales on her cheeks. A quiet, tired breath escaped him and he swallowed hard – of course Jysarra had been watching. Why should he have expected he might have a decent afternoon for once?
“Clumsy idiot,” she added, stopping so that she was just within his reach. It was a taunt and a gloat; she knew well and good he would not dare lay a hand on her. He furrowed his brow in anger, but looked away in deference.
“Why were you watching?” he asked, barely managing to mask his growing outrage and immense embarrassment. “Did Mother send you to check up on me?”
“Oh, not at all,” Jysarra jeered, “I was just looking for some cheap entertainment. Easy enough, around here – you'd think this house was a circus.”
She over-emphasized the Common word – another jab. 'There is no word in our language to describe how much a fool you all are, so I have to sink to this one,' all wrapped in one word.
“You'd find bigger fools at the tavern,” he replied sourly, refastening one of his shirt buttons.
