I think we should start reporting threads for being in the wrong category. There is a section on the report form for exactly that!

Onto the actual thread. Why should you not put purges into the freebie forums? Simple... they aren’t free. That’s it. Easy as that.
Edit: I honestly think that no one should be posting any offers on a post in the freebie threat at all! If there are offers in the comments on your post in the freebie forum, then it clearly belongs in the ‘adoption center’ forum, not the freebie forum!

Besides you could always make a post about freebies and promote your sale at the bottom of the thread. Your entire post should not be about your purge, but you can always make a little promotion (like a link to a different thread). (Edit: With advertising I mean a link to a different post, there should not be offers on a freebie post!)
Start using this forum for what it’s supposed to be used! I’m done seeing people not giving a care in the world. I’m sure I’m not the only one annoyed by this. People come here for free ocs, if they want to spend money or trade characters or give art then they will look at a different forum.

Another edit: a lot of people use the ‘Freebie Bin 2.0’, the ‘a little advertisement is okay’-statement I made does NOT count on that thread! The rules specifically state not to promote sales or trades!!!

Im wondering if Shelters should be allowed on here tbh? 99% of the shelters I've seen are NOT FREE. You gotta give characters to gain CURRENCY so you can then BUY sheltered adopts with said currency.
You're basically trading OCs with Virtual currency slapped in the middle. But the shelters rule always make a point to say "these adopt are free! you're DONATING OCs to gain currency" like no? if you give something and get money (virtual or not) in return that's called selling, and giving said currency back for new OCs is called buying? none of this is free?! (there's literally a tag for "for sale for virtual currency" stop tagging them as free!)

Wta is literally Just writing about a character, it’s free. People usually just do this so characters go to a good home, it can be a good way to see who’s actually interested in using that character instaid of someone just adding them to a hoard where they just collect dust. But Yes it can be annoying when you’re not the best at writing (I feel the struggle, most of my ocs are for personal rps and stories that I don’t share and I develop them overtime, so having to write before I can even adopt them is frusterating. But I still believe it counts as free)
DTA is kinda the same thing, unless it’s a contest/raffle type DTA (because then you draw Just for the CHANCE of getting the oc), because usually when you adopt a DTA character you’ll Just draw the oc you’re trying to adopt so the art will be yours anyways, again it’s Just a way to check if you actually wanna use this character instaid of putting it in a hoard.
However I often see people mislable characters as DTA when they are looking for art offers, those are two very different things!
