WRITING SAMPLES
The hammering of the cold mind-space within his head drew the nameless man from his slumber, that and the roaring of a motor engine outside. Roused from his bed, or what was left of it, he looked across his room, promptly sliding to the floor as what few intact springs remained gave way under his alcohol-bloated weight. His bleary eyes slowly focused on an unspooled tape laid haphazardly across the ground like the bow on a last minute present, each heartbeat spoiling what focus he could gather, sending dull spikes through his mind, the ancient reptilian brain recoiling.
He stretched his hands across the floorboards, brushing across shattered glass, tugging at the hem of a jacket that may or may not belong to him, pulling it into his lap. He croaked out some unrecognizable phrase, stumbling to his feet, lurching towards the door before stumbling into the hallway and the gaze of a young woman observing his severely hung over movements. He stopped himself just short of sailing over the guard-rail to the floor below, breathing in the air tinged with coffee and some sort of alcohol, the sickliness of cider straining into his throat, breathed in like a drowning man surfacing.
“Had a fun night, detective?” Queried the woman, her voice raspy, wearing the bulging eyes of someone...a block, his mind floundering for a word he should know.
“I...did I?” His own voice, so sincerely alien, sounding like someone had urged a dying horse to speak it’s final words.
“From the sounds of it, yes.”
EXT. STREET – DUSK
Two men are sitting on the curb of a street, two others lie dead, their hands are bound behind their backs with handcuffs, the buildings around them are a partnership of abandoned and shelled buildings. There are two men behind them, the lead of which is MICHAEL, 37.
MICHAEL: For your crimes against the Leader and the people of Albion, you are hereby sentenced to death.
The man on the left, BERNARD AVERY, mid-50s, is kicked down by the black boot of one of the flanking men and is shot in the head, his body twitching as he dies, the rest of the men appear fairly unfazed and Michael idly wipes away a few splatters of blood across his coat.
MICHAEL: Ah, Mr…
He pulls a crumpled sheet of paper from his coat pocket, reading down a list of names and muttering to himself, glancing to the man beneath him, back at the list, then nodding, stuffing it back into his pocket.

- George, a person who has never been on a ship's deck, lies his way into a pirate crew.
- Neil gets news about his sister's car accident and about her really bad condition. He feels that he needs to travel abroad to see her. He tells about it his partner Zoltan. (I would like to focus on the telling Zoltan scene and also on making it angsty)
- Airi recently came back to village where Erin lives and when Airi used to live. They spend some time together in the woods and Erin also thinks it is a good occasion to introduce Airi to Erin's new friend - who is a bies, creature considered a monster. Airi has some doubts about bies's good intentions.
