I appreciate the hard work put into them, but the really are becoming a pain.

I get it, they’re popular. But they’re often popular because people fav them to find them later. Half of the front page is always damn codes, please either offer a check mark like with reselling options (humanoid, anthro, etc) and prevent them from clogging the front page.

Offered Solution: It would be great to have an option to mark a profile as a Code or a Resource so it’s easier to find for people looking for it, but it also doesn’t hog the front page. Imagine the browse function, but with a Codes & Resources checkmark instead.

It would be good to be able to filter what we see on our popular page in general. If you are only interested in anthos, you can filter it to see anthros, if you are only interested in humanoids, filter it that way, and optionally filter it to only be adopts or resales available.

I absolutely love this idea, along with Bakuqou's idea. Being able to browse specifically codes or different types of characters would be amazing. Also, it would be great to seperate profile codes from regular characters on an individual's profiles (without having to do so with folders). I would like to be able to click "all characters" see only my oc's, rather than a combination of all my oc's and profile codes, and vice versa.

Devil's Advocate; How would they implement a feature where they're able to tell character profiles from each other?

Every character is tagged by the individual creating/owning the character, so we can't use tags as an organization, since everybody has their own tagging system.
Every character is treated the same, regardless of anthro, feral, humanoid or other status. There's no button to mark whether they're codes, templates, or characters.
To sort by types of characters, an entirely new feature would have to be added AND retroactively put onto every single character on the site. Everything would most likely organized by the users rather than the admins or mods, since that's millions of characters to go through. A lot of people wouldn't be happy with all this work being dumped upon them, especially if they already have their own system to organize this tings (tags, folders, what have you).

That being said, the idea of having the ability to mark a profile as a "code" probably wouldn't be as hard to implement as a type of character, just because there's fewer of them. I can agree with that, but there's still the problem of retrofitting what's probably hundreds of "codes" to fit this solution. Some people simply won't have the time to mark the difference between their codes and their characters, especially if they don't work on coding anymore. And if codes are listed separate than characters on the front page, it'll probably annoy a lot of people who aren't interested in codes in the slightest. It's simply a lot easier to have the character profiles all treated equally, rather than have a big overhaul of how character profiles are treated. Especially since we haven't had a big update in months.

Honestly having a category for resources/codes would be very useful.
