Mortymer so, my suggestion is for something manually moderated but that could also work. Like if it picks up a keyword from the first 3-4 pages, or after a certain number of threads are made (eg: 1 thread might not trigger it, but 3+ threads would)

I'll start this by saying. Yes, I know this wouldn't work unless there's more mods. So I'm posting this as an idea dump of sorts
Basically, with the amount of repeat threads over the past few years, and especially with the amount of trend threads (fav for favs, song lyric games, etc.) I think it's about time there should be some moderation & rules around them. That way other topics don't get buried under them. general ideas I have:
- Repeat threads of topics that are long dead (like 6+ months of no new posts) wouldn't be affected, only ones that are made close to eachother or if there's 6+ threads like it on one page
- There would be no penalty for making a repeat thread. Just a "this thread's been locked due to being a repeated topic" message, and if there's an original thread/a catch-all for them it'd be bumped
These are pretty general & I know they aren't perfect (just a general idea based off what i've seen on other forums). So what are your thoughts? other ideas?
the only thing I'll say is regardless if you like these threads or not, please don't argue with each-other over it. This isn't a place to diss people who hate or like them and I'd like to keep it that way.
