TH doesn't alert you when you submit a new character that has a large file size like it does usually for when you submit images that are too big. Oddly, this is gone and I had no idea it was a thing when you submit a character (or probably just forgot). Even though it may be apparent, it wasn't for me when I was trying over and over early this morning and I didn't even notice the size was so big after finding out for myself by hovering over the file image

Here's my experience from last night to give more insight of my frustration: I tried to submit a new character but it didn't show me any alerts on why. It just wouldn't upload them, it just lead me to https://toyhou.se/~characters/create again over and over again.

I thought at first I was somehow silence from creating a character and then thought maint was going on, but I checked with a different character. This time with a smaller file but I didn't think much about it. That ended up working and it finally clicked. I checked the original character file image I was trying to upload and sure enough, it was around 3000px.

Im pretty sure it is supposed to be there but it's been bugged for years? It doesn't always appear when submitting art on existing characters too.

The 4MB size cap itself is wonky as well, more than once did I submit 'big files' that were under 4MB but the site still viewed it as too big (like 3,8MB).

So yeah, it's there but utterly broken and in need of fixing I think.

Cosmind I hope you don't mind me pinging you but yes, I think it is also a bug that just needs another reminder to fix this.

I also had that problem as well despite Photoshop saying it wasn't above 4MB lol

I sent in a ticket about the bug about a month ago because I'm tired of telling people to check their sizes :,D. I've bumped it a couple of times, hopefully lulu sees and fixes this, but it hasn't been broken for years, it broke with the laravel updates from a few months ago. This is a decently recent issue.

Oh I see! Thank you for giving more insight about this. Hope they see this too and fix it.
