They're called special characters.
I'd love it if we were able to put special characters in our tags. For example: ☆, ❤, ❦, ♞ ect.
With having a lot of characters, I'd like to be able to quickfind certain groups with maybe just a single icon to represent things I still need to do/keep track of. (For example: ≈ = Undeveloped/ needs to be worked on ❀ = Fully Developed)) This is a bit of a lazy suggestion since Sure it can just be written out. But it could be helpful in the way of the length of having multiple tags for things condensed into a few little icons instead of long words. Especially if a lot of tags are used. This would be especially great since we can inform what everything means in Profile or character blurbs. Just thought I'd throw it out there as it might make things convenient for others as well
maybe abbreviate the tags like FD= Fully developed, that way you get the short tags and it's easier to remember what each tag is?

And yea, I do do that. BUt I think special characters would make it look a little bit prettier if nothing else XD
+1 I think about this a lot and I disagree with the commenter saying that these would be unhelpful. what if I want to search up green apple theme characters with the 🍏 emoji? and I didn’t want like red apple but most would just tag both as “apple”. really really specific but you Know. it would be really cool for things like that!!! I’ve always wanted to tag things like emojis because then my characters can be sorted by themes like that but it isn’t cluttered and it is also easy to find the tags in the all tags thing because they are emojis.

This would be really helpful imo
Im going to use Pokémon as a example. When using the é character it disappears when submitting a tag. This can be a issue when typing in other languages.
