i would love this feature and for restricted, nsfw tabs to be implemented as well. then again, minsu said that they're trying to work on it, so maybe this is one of those things...? fingers crossed either way!
This came to mind after a friend of mind had an underage user favorite one of their characters that happened to deal with NSFW themes and the like. While there are ways to keep people under 18 out of certain threads now and to stop them seeing certain images, to my knowledge there still isn't a way to stop them from viewing a profile of a character that is completely NSFW!
For example, my character Kimiko, isn't a purely NSFW character, but by nature she is an inherently sexual character with a lot of sexual themes in her profile! But people under 18 can still go to her profile and look at all the info, no matter how much I try to censor it! I think this is a big issue and honestly, it would be worth having an option to age restrict characters so that underage people cannot gain access to them!
If this is something that already exists, please let me know! But I don't think you can do this currently and I think it's something that needs to be addressed!
i mean, i'm kinda against this? not just because it affects me, but because it would kinda prevent us from doing forum/art games if whenever we check the thread the character is restricted? like, it already bothers me enough that some non-sexual threads are still restricted, i don't really want to be stopped from seeing characters/taking part in the forums just because of something i can't control.
I think that having NSFW Tabs too would be a great idea! This means that I could put some of my NSFW stuff for Kimiko into a seperate tab, so people could still look at the SFW parts of her profile. With that said though, I think that both should definitely be implemented, since some characters are more NSFW than others at the end of the day. Just putting having the option for tabs wouldn't solve the problem I think.

While I understand where you're coming from, at the end of the day, if something is restricted then it's usually restricted for a reason. If you're not able to see a character in a thread because of an age restriction, then it might be best to just wait or go to a different game until you can find an ideal point to jump in. Most forum games have rules to keep things active after a certain period of time has passed so even with this sort of thing implemented, threads can still remain active. It's not ideal, but I feel it's better than people potentially getting into trouble or getting uncomfortable over having something that should be put behind closed doors. It would be nice to have the option at the very least.
I 100% agree with this since blacking out is just a band-aid solution. Nothing is stopping a minor from highlighting that text! I have a lot of blanked out text on Kimiko and while it's not a very good solution, it's all I can really do without a proper filter!

I mean since we have content warnings for images already (sensitive topics, gore, sexual content, etc) I would welcome the option to restrict characters in a similar manner. So people could choose to hide them entirely or only show them with a warning. In the forums, it could display a respective text in the post that was hidden. I think this takes priority, I'd rather take forum games stalling for a few hours because a nsfw character was posted, than accidentally running into nsfw characters or minors seeing them. Protecting minors is more important than participating in a game, imo.
or rather it would just work on tabs? like we can have age restricted tabs but the main page remains sfw tho i know that'll pretty much butcher the character nvm......
I second this even if I don't personally have much use for it! I think it would be an effective addition for a lot of people both minors and adults alike
Gosh yes please!! I have a few characters that arent too nsfw but have a lot of like?? gorey/dark elements to them that i REALLY prefer minors didnt interact with? esp when a lot of the stuff is 18+
and i know people could lie about their age on their accs to see it anyway but bleh
I would like this a lot. I have been scared to put up a lot of my characters, because my writing is more YA/18+. Not all of it is NSFW, but I like darker themes so its not something I want 13-14 year olds stumbling upon so I keep the more mature stuff in authorized folders.
I agree. Though, I feel like there should be moreso a "warning" for users, similar to when you join an NSFW chat on discord, a different screen pops up blocking the chat and instead asking if they want to proceed forward or go back.
I don't know if my opinion on this counts bc I'm a minor myself, but I think just a warning telling what kind of nsfw content it has would be enough? Or have the user choose what content to block? Because for me personally if I see a warning that a profile has sexual content in it, I'm gonna stay away, but gore/darker themes don't bother me at all.
