Suggestion: Disregard Permissions for Trade List

Posted 5 years, 10 months ago by Waltz

With the newer site version we've been able for a while now to transfer characters to other users regardless of listed trade permissions, which has been super handy since in many case, characters get locked into incorrect,/overrestricted permissions, that can no longer be changed once creator credit is transferred.

However, I've noticed this is now creating barriers to the trade listing! I have characters that I've tried to list for freebie or trade, but because they're older characters I received in trade whose permissions have gotten incorrectly locked in, the system won't allow me to do so!

It would be nice for the system to disregard these, since they're often wildly inaccurate anyway, or at the very least give no more than a warning before confirmation.

(Additional note: Allowing users to change trade permissions themselves might be needed anyway? It can already be done if the creator isn't a site user, and it would be handy for trades. If I receive a character in trade that was originally listed as 'can resell', it would be useful to be able to remove the resell permission so that no one thinks they can still buy it later!)

this should be shown something like that:

ORIGINAL: what the first person tagged (so it's easier to tell if somebody's trying to sell it without permission)

CURRENT: current status

(btw i approve of this)

Same! I feel like it should allow for it?

or atleast have a way that the original creator can get a notification that the current owner wishes to change it, like character credits and transfers, but a notification saying " [Username] wishes to change permissions from [Current ones to] to [Future ones]" and have an Allow or Deny button-

even though I do feel if the user isn't active it may bring up some problems, in which case, maybe something else besides notification being sent can be done? :c
