I've been tinkering with the idea of displaying something on my character's layouts to show that they have lits, but I would much prefer something officially visible like we have for art.
(The badge idea is fine too; I'll take anything)
Would you use a feature like this?

I did a quick scour and couldn't find a suggestion like this, so apologies if it's been previously posted!
An idea that just occurred to me as a useful feature would be a Recent Literatures section on character profiles, similar to the Recent Images section, where possibly the last 1-3 literatures featuring that character would be displayed?
A lot of times, when I visit the profiles of unfamiliar characters, I have no idea that they have any linked literature unless the user explicitly notes it on that character's profile, which is annoying because I love to read them! However, because the percentage of characters who have stories posted is so low, it would be irritating to check the Library of every single new character I browse, only to find nothing. The Library link is so small and unobstrusive by default that I often forget it's there, in fact!
Obviously, such a section would probably need to be togglable; not every user would want it displayed, and it would break a lot of custom layouts if not carefully implemented, and of course it needn't appear if a character has no lits.
Whether or not folks chose to use a feature like this, I think it would be a nice option to have!
Alternatively, maybe just something like displaying an optional badge with literature count beside the Library link might be a good and easier indicator?

i voted the 'post literature / won't use' only bc my profile layout won't allow it, but i'm 100% for using it if i change my layout in the future and i'd love to see other users using it :0!
(assuming this is for featured characters on profiles, if not i misunderstood sorry 😅)
AlleycatIrony Actually I was referring to character profiles here! The section would be like the individual character's Recent Images section, or the sidebar badge to be less cumbersome. (Though a section for user profiles could be cool too!)

I don't post or read but this is definitely a good idea! I'd probably be nosy about lits available if they were more visible, though.
even if the "literature" link in the sidebar just had a '(#)' beside it with the number of lits the character has, i think it would help a lot! but i think a "recent literature" like recent images makes a lot of sense for making the two kinds of work equal - and both could be toggleable for showing at all.
as is, "recent" images doesnt make much sense when you can reorder them... i think "featured" would probably be an improvement if they ever tweak that section. or even just "images"(/"literature") so that its safe both for people who do order them vs those who leave it chronological.
bump, I was wondering why this wasn't already a thing a short while back, I feel like this is a necessary feature considering the way art is showcased.

I've already said this, but since TH is an OC site and it isn't strictly an art-only site, writers deserves to get their own equal spotlight too!

Apparently it's caused some small issues with some custom layouts, so it might've been overzealous to move all the numbers aha, but I'm glad that we have some sort of indicator now at least o/
