+1 although I don't understand why you wouldn't simply upload the image to your own character's gallery + save it to your pc as a backup instead of relying on tagging
Hi! I'm a big fan of the tagging system on toyhouse- I think it's really fun to go through and tag your friends' characters in pictures they're in! But there's a pretty serious loophole...
If I tag someone's OC in a picture, they are then given editing rights to the image, where they can add their own description, set their own crop, etc... But they are also allowed to delete the image from my gallery.
All they have to do is go to where the tags are, and delete my OC from the tags, and the image is completely wiped from that OC's gallery..!!
In this picture here, I have tagged a friend's OC, Haruka, and I have the ability to delete Haruka's tag from the image. Which is innocuous enough, but if I delete the tag, it removes the entire image from her gallery. And because their OC is tagged here, they have access to this on their side as well, so they are able to delete my OC Haruhi's tag as well, and completely remove the image from her gallery.
This can pave the way for a lot of people to spitefully delete images from someone's gallery without permission should their OC be tagged, or even for someone to mistakenly delete images from their gallery because they don't know that removing the tag removes the image...
If an OC has like 10 images, it should be easy enough to find out which one got deleted and replace it.... But if an OC has a lot of art, it can be a big hassle trying to track down which image was deleted so you can reupload it.
I definitely think that people should be able to delete tags if they aren't involved with the people they're tagging anymore, but they shouldn't be able to delete what's in someone else's gallery when they do so..!

Alphanix oh this isn't for co-owned characters! This is for if you tag someone elses character in an image! Say I drew a picture of my oc with yours and decided to tag your oc in it, you would have the ability to delete that tag from MY oc thus deleting the image from MY gallery while either deciding to keep it in yours or deleting it from yours as well (the only way to delete the image is to delete the tags, so some people delete all the tags on an image when they only need to delete their OC's tag and it disappears from their gallery)
Bellamy HeartlessSpade i think most people do save it to their computers! At first I didn't even realize tagging other OC's would insert the image into their gallery, and friends ended up with many duplicates upon accepting the requests. I figured it worked more similarly to tagging a post on Tumblr or something where you were just giving credit to the other character in the image, so if anyone wanted to check out the other OC's in an image it would just link to their profile haha. But in the case of saving images, that's all fine and dandy, but some characters have a LOT of art. Two of my OC's, the one I upload the most art for, have over 400 and 500 pictures respectively, so if someone were to delete an image from my gallery, there would be no way of knowing which image it was
i mean maybe having an option to choose whether or not the image gets inserted into your gallery or not when accepting a tag request could help in some cases??
I don't know how I feel about this. I think people have the right to untag if they want to. I'm personally a fussy person about this and I routinely delete my art or "clean up" and I think it would be worse if I wasn't allowed to untag my characters.
I have a character right now that is tagged in a shared piece of art, of a character that originally belonged to an ex-friend but was sold off to someone I don't know.
(selling a character with couple art without notifiying the other person/asking them is pretty shitty)
they haven't removed the tag themselves so I don't know if they have noticed, or even cared. but I know that the character is a lot different now than what it used to be, and I doubt they'd want to keep our characters in any kind of relationship, so, is there really any point in keeping that art up?
Albinistic i think deleting the art related to your character is one thing, but when you have the ability to delete it from other character's galleries (without the other person even knowing), it can lead to some huge issues especially if a person you've previously had OC relationships with becomes vindictive after ur friendship ends or something and decides to delete all the art
i totally understand being fussy about your oc's gallery or the art in there, but I personally cherish every picture me or my OC's have ever received, and so even if the OC's don't know each other anymore, or me and the other person aren't friends, I would personally choose to leave that there. Now, if the other person wants to remove it from their OC's gallery, that's fine! But they shouldn't be able to delete it from my OC's gallery just because they don't want it in theirs anymore, if that makes sense!
I think having a system where you could REQUEST having art removed is something that would prove much more helpful and secure than allowing someone to delete images from other peoples galleries because they happened to be tagged in it... Say in your case, having someone trade off a character who was previously in a relationship with yours... If them having those images in the characters gallery bothers you, you could request to have them removed and state your reasoning, rather than just deleting them without a word or warning. Especially in the way of trades, where people may receive a character with a lot of art who may or may not have saved all the art onto their computer yet, if someone starts deleting images from their gallery without them knowing, then they're missing out on a lot of art that their character is actually present in. Same thing (and perhaps more importantly) with purchases-- people could be deleting the images that you paid extra for because their character is in it

that's a good idea, we have requests for character/design ownership (which sometimes bugs the hell out of me) so I don't see why that shouldn't be an option. but I don't want it to be like "if your character is in this piece you can't do anything about it, lol" or even remove the character link. at least give us an option to un-tag or un-link the character, even if it doesn't remove the art.
Albinistic yesss i am totally fine with people untagging their characters if they don't want to be in/have the image anymore! They can currently do that too, the only problem is when they go to do so, they can also untag every other character in the image, thus removing it from the other persons gallery... that's the only part I have a problem with! If they could just make it to where people can't just delete the tags of other people's OCs (but do whatever they want with their own) and instead have it be a "request to remove" type of thing i think it would be great!
