Hi! So I had made a kinsona (they're private, and was going to keep them private) and had a question with the new rules. They are based off a canon character, yes (Nagito Komaeda) however when making their page, I sourced their design to the original creator, and all art is by me.
Now here's where the sort of question comes in. My kinsona is actually quite different from canon. I hadn't finished them when the announcement was made (not going to touch until I'm sure), but I was planning on writing all of their info. I understand why people would be against pages like, "This is Naruto as a dog. The profile is filled with info copy and pasted from the wiki), but my kinsona has a derivative personality, different gender, their own history that's different from canon, etc. Enough to warrant me drawing their own art and writing their own info.
I'm not 100% if that's enough to count them as their own "fan character" or if they're still too close to canon. So figured I'd ask!
i think you'd get the best answer by sending in a helpdesk ticket (bottom of screen) linking your character and asking if they are OK or against the rules. the admins will be the ones making the final decisions on any characters, so it'd be best to probably get their opinion instead of ours!
if they turn out to not be allowed, the admins will let you put the character on private at least to save the information & images, so it's not like they'll delete it out of nowhere
