getting traction on resale forums?

I've really been wanting to be rid of a lot of characters from my trade folder, but I can't ever seem to get them to work? I was wondering if anyone had any tips about it, or if I should maybe just change the title? Like, "Freebs + Trade" to make it seem more appealing? I really want to be rid of some of these boys, but I also really want them to go to someone who will put in the effort for them? Am I asking too much?

well, to be quite frank, you MIGHT be asking for too much, haha! But not in the rude way. I just mean, there are A LOT of people within the 'market' and ever since I joined it's been the most hopping part of the site. in my experience there are just some designs that go fast and some that don't go at all. you might need to be prepared to cut your losses if you're looking at years+ of disinterest. OTOH, i've had designs that seemed to lack traction until, like half a year later where they sold full price, etc....
but you'll never know until you put yourself out there as much as you can tbh! if you see seeking threads that are on par with what you're looking for to trade your designs off, do try and post your designs there! =D from what i can tell, sitting on your own thread and hoping people will come to you is a bit tougher (unless you have 'big name' designs and stuff).
and... being dishonest doesn't get you far, unless you really do have freebies? but then you're just gonna get people flocking to the freebies and ignoring the trades haha. i really do think everything on this website is double-edged. =p

in general if something isn't free or made by an in demand designer, it usually doesn't get much attention because there is a huge over saturation in the market. The only thing that really makes adopts stand out is if it is part of some crowd with a loyal fanbase (so usually artists with big/loyal followings or popular cs). If you do have any free adopts advertising that in the title may get you some bites, however most people will probably only be coming for freebies.

and on a side note, "I also really want them to go to someone who will put in the effort for them" is kind of a big ask around here. A greater majority of adopts sit untouched on people's accounts because people impulse buy whatever catches their eye then move on to the next thing. It's just sort of the nature of adopts, this community is fueled by impulse buys. If the idea of a design going to someone who will write a sentence about it then never touch it again or try to retrade it is upsetting to you, you may not want to rehome those designs! Cuz once they leave your hands you have no say in what happens to them

Beed I was thinking I could just put some of the characters for free, no lying !! That would be really dishonest and I am not about that ;;;; But thank you for the information! I'm still fairly new to this whole ordeal so getting some insight was really really nice..!

p.s What is your icon b/c I've seen u around and it confuses me every time

Bruja It's not really the retrading it's just,, I dunno ; I have a special attachment to things sometimes, but maybe I should try and distance myself from that to get better at trading/selling? But thank you so much too!

ahhh, gotcha! then yeah, be prepared to have those freebies fly away, no one can resist 'em! and you're totally welcome, buddy! i really hope you can find a system that works for you and lets you trade w/ peace of mind at the end of the day. it's still tough for me from time to time and im in this stuff way too often LOL. getting into adopts and trading/selling them have two different learning curves, imo, and i'm glad to have been of some help!
also, my icon is from a PC game called Leisure Suit Larry!
