Art Breeder?

Is there a consensus on using images of our characters we made using Art Breeder? (linked)

You can make something entirely from scratch there but you can also mix and match, heavily altering and adjusting preexisting images until you get something you like. I'm just wondering what sort of credit, if any, would need to be applied if we shared the results in our characters' profiles/galleries etc.

As Ian said, credit whoever made the original pics use for the mishmash

Additional notes:

  • if it's your art you drew yourself: do what you want
  • if it's someone else's art (regardless of if you paid for it or not): ask for permission
  • if you dont know who made the picture/dont have permission: don't use it
  • I dont think crediting artbreeder is necessary. People don't credit Sai or Photoshop for the art they drew.

Artbreeder's own rules state:

Who owns the images?
All images are public domain  (CC0) and may be used for commercial purposes. It is strongly suggested  that you cite the Artbreeder image URL when sharing something that  strongly resembles an Artbreeder image. Private mode is available for  subscribers to ensure the images are not used by others.

so you're free to do whatever you want with them! Upload away 👀 but maybe credit artbreeder
