Advice plz?

Heya, posting from this account as I’d like to avoid the other party knowing this is about them incase they look in this area of the forums…

(I’m not looking to make a PSA literally just want some advice on the situation to know what to say/how to word it without accusing them of anything ect..)

I ordered a commission from an acc shared between two people Who have been working on it together, It was a large order of outfit designs for over 10 characters and I paid through a payment plan that they were very flexible on at the time because I was having some financial issues but really wanted to get these so I could move forward on a project I was working on which the project was doing amazing things for my mental health so I thought it was a good investment

my full order was officially 49 outfits for 14 characters, please note they weren't all the same theme but more in blocks. (E.g 5 dresses, 2 swimsuits ect) but all for the same 14 characters.

don’t wanna give out too much of the order details incase it’s seen by the artists, I don’t want to cause any issues but I feel really anxious about bringing this up with them as i’m really bad at formulating messages hence advice post

anyway, I placed the order in back in March 2019 - so i have no proof of payments now (oof) and finished the payment plan a few months after, there was some slight delays here and there on my end because of some health issues I went through but I was always straight up about it and informed them of any delay so payments went through perfectly no problem

now It’s 2021 June and I’ve only received 14 outfits (one full block set out of 6 sets total) and wips of two others. So they’re still doing work but like, I just don’t know how to ask them if they could work a bit faster? Because I’m always saying ‘i don’t mind waiting’ or ‘there’s no rush‘ ect because I don’t want to make them feel pressured or anything

so like i’m wondering if i should just stay quiet and keep on waiting, or if I should say something about the time it’s taking? especially because in the time frame that they’ve taken i’m no longer working on the project do to an now ex-friend completely ripping off my story ideas/redesigning my characters and stuff so I stopped the project a few months back but still would like the outfits.. i know the artists are taking on other commissions here and there as well so I donno and I know asking for a refund is completely off of the table because it states in the TOS they’re unable to give/do refunds and I was okay with that at the time and of course a chargeback is completely impossible as well (and not a valid option even if it was as they have provided some of the order)

so like i said, i’m not looking to make a psa about this which is why i’m posting this here, i just really would like some advice on how/what I should do about this/handle it or if i should just stop bothering and leave it?

I feel like it’s my fault for It taking so long with saying i don’t mind waiting ect so do i have any kind of right to be questioning the time frame? And if I was to message them what would be the best approach about asking them to speed things up/talking about the time frame without it seeming Like i’m being rude/accusing or anything like that

edit: some spelling

A year for 49 outfits does seem rather long and I'd be concerned about the slow progress myself if I were in your situation. Best advice I can give you is just be honest about your concerns and ask politely about a time estimate. If they're a professional on any level, they won't have an issue with it. It's tough, don't get me wrong. But you spent real money and have every right to know if you're going to get what you paid for

"Hello, I'd like an update on my order and an estimate on how much longer it might take to finish, if that's alright. The current progress worries me a little and I hope everything is going well on your end"

That's all you really need to say, but I'd stop saying things like "take as long as you need". I'd also ask about a public commission queue, so that you can see how much is being worked on alongside your order
